Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring prior travel experience, stepdown/PCU experience, and Level 1 facility experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Surgical/Transplant unit (mixed stepdown and acute care floor)
- Cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stays
- Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or valid compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Level 1 facility experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience required
- OR-only candidates will not be accepted
- Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Charge nurse and/or preceptor experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to a variety of post-surgical and transplant patients with simple to complex health needs
- Responsibilities include patient monitoring, medication administration, IV management, blood product administration, and care plan communication with patients and families
- This is not a PACU position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Previously placed travelers who have completed 26 weeks at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced
