Job Description:
This role provides support to attorneys within the trusts and estates practice. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in a comparable position. The paralegal must demonstrate strong organizational and case-management skills, the ability to support multiple attorneys at once, and the capacity to manage varied and competing priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing trust and estate administration matters for complex and taxable estates, including preparation and filing of Massachusetts probate forms.
- Assisting attorneys with the preparation of Massachusetts and federal estate tax returns and gift tax returns (familiarity with MassTaxConnect and GEMS software is a plus).
- Communicating directly with clients, fiduciaries, financial advisors, accountants, and other third parties (including requests for date-of-death valuations and appraisals, and correspondence with probate courts).
- Supporting attorneys with estate planning matters, including client intake, preparation of engagement letters, explanatory correspondence, and funding instructions.
- Drafting and proofreading related estate planning documents such as durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, HIPAA authorizations, and basic funding documents.
- Retrieving deeds from online registries and preparing deeds, trustee certificates, and homestead declarations in connection with estate planning.
- Maintaining calendars and tracking key deadlines, including probate filings, tax filing and payment deadlines for estates and trusts, and estate plan execution dates.
Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm, with a focus on estate planning and/or probate and trust administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent proofreading abilities, and close attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel), document management systems such as NetDocs, and working with PDF documents.
- Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Maintains a historical record of service and filings. Computes and calendars corresponding due dates on computer system. Alerts Firm attorneys, patent agents and assistants of receipt of notices, and impending deadlines. Assists attorneys and secretaries with generating Docket Reports as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Handle the daily maintenance and overall operation of the Firm's computerized docketing system including the docketing of all incoming mail from the USPTO, international patent offices, clients and international associates; docketing prosecution and interference due dates for all US patent
cases into the docketing system including USPTO and court filings dates; abandoning cases and entering data relating to cases transferred to and from the Firm
· Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all data entry including the data entry of new US and foreign, patent, interference and litigation case data; Maintain a high level of quality by reviewing all data entry on a daily basis
· Clear due dates on the docketing system on a daily basis per instruction from Attorneys/Assistants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 plus years US and foreign docketing experience required; computerized docketing experience required
· CPI & IP experience required

· Type 50-75 WPM

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional legal services to our clients in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities: Conduct legal research and draft coverage opinions for clients in the insurance industry.
Represent clients in insurance coverage litigation matters Analyze complex insurance policies and provide legal advice to clients on coverage issues.
Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to insurance coverage litigation.
Conduct depositions and engage in discovery practice in insurance coverage matters.
Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff members to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
Stay up to date on changes in insurance law and regulations to ensure that clients receive the most current legal advice.
Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the NY bar required.
0-10 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation and drafting coverage opinions.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
