Our staffing firm is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a large, multi-state workforce for one of our long-standing clients in Columbus, OH. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys digging into payroll details, and is committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional internal service. The position involves payroll processing, data auditing, and cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing high-volume, multi-state payroll for several thousand employees across both hourly and salaried roles.
- Import and validate hours, commissions, bonus data, and related payroll inputs from various internal sources.
- Review and audit transactions including new hires, pay rate changes, status updates, and other wage-affecting items.
- Ensure correct application of federal, state, and local tax regulations across multiple states.
- Support garnishment and child support processing.
- Complete payroll employment verifications and government-required reports.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of payroll experience, ideally in a multi-state environment and processing for 1,000+ employees
- Experience with UKG or another web-based payroll software preferred.
- High school diploma required; additional education in accounting or business is a plus.
- Strong customer service mindset and high attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel (formatting, formulas and vlookups)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Duties and Responsibilities
May be hired to do one of the following primary job functions:
Scheduler:
Answer/screen/triage incoming phone calls in a timely and courteous manner. Will resolve callers' inquiries.
Schedule appointments and cancellations by phone or faxed referral
Understands scheduling protocols: hospital, office, ambulatory center, doctors/other providers at each location
Understands all appointment and procedure types and the preps associated with each type
Understands insurance protocols for scheduling and pre-certification
Daily reviews and has working knowledge of physician and office schedules
Obtain patient insurance information and enter into computer
Receive consultation requests from hospitals; obtain patient information, and notify physicians or provider/practitioner (MCE & RMH only) by entering consult request into online paging system
Call in prescriptions for designated preps to pharmacies as necessary
Referrals:
Schedule and process incoming referrals, contacting patient directly & communicating appointment information to referring physician offices.
Operators:
Receive consultation requests from hospitals; obtain patient information, and notify physicians or provider/practitioner (MCE & RMH only) by entering consult request into online paging system
Call in prescriptions for designated preps to pharmacies as necessary
Schedulers/Operators/ Recalls/Referrals/Prep Specialist:
Practice appropriate charting methods, including taking appropriate messages
Mail patient and procedure information packets.
Utilizes computer programs daily (Athena and gGastro)
Secondary Job Functions:
Assists co-workers with additional work outside of scheduler duties
Maintain confidentiality of patient's personal and financial information by utilizing HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Attend all office meetings or in-service as required.
Any other tasks as requested by the physician, practice manager, human resource manager, and/or the office supervisor1
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to communicate with diversified levels of patients, staff members as well as external providers and/or agencies.
Ability to organize work material to ensure accuracy of job performance
Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports
Skills to use a personal computer and various software packages, including internet.
Skills to handle a multi-line phone system.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision
Ability to handle and resolve problems
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding health and financial information.
Neat appearance, professional demeanor and pleasant phone voice.
Fluent in English.
Credentials and Experience
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Prefer at least 2 years experience working in a medical environment.
Special Requirements
Willingness to learn new tasks, be cross-trained within the office, and be flexible with work load to help office flow, assisting co-workers as needed.
Flexibility in working hours with willingness to work occasional overtime.
Physical Demands

Position Purpose:
The Medical Assistant will function within the State of Ohio scope of practice to administer direct care to patients, functioning under the direction of the provider or registered nurse and practice manager, following all policies and procedures including Mount Carmel Health System, Mount Carmel Medical Group and department specific policies and procedures.

Hours of office: Monday- Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
What You Will Do:
Welcome and room patients: heigh, weight and vitals
Review medical history chief complaints and gather other information
Blood draws, injections and EKGs
Answer in basket message, patient follow up calls and message
Using EPIC
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Highschool Diploma or GED with 1-2 years Medical experience OR Graduate Bachelors or Associates in science/health degree BUT Graduate/Completion of a medical assistant program preferred, Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred, or Graduate of EMT, EMT-P, or Military Medical Corpsman training preferred.
Licensure / Certification: MCMG Only: Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration, preferred.
Experience: One to two years medical assisting experience preferred. In lieu of required education, two to three years of previous medical office experience is required.
Current BLS/CPR, and must maintain current certification

Registered Nurse RN
Position Purpose:
The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) at Mount Carmel East has 16 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) would expect to see the highest acuity neuro patients in the health system while working on this unit. Mount Carmel East is the only comprehensive stroke center in the Mount Carmel system.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do:
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice. Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
- All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
