Position Overview
The Associate Radiochemist is a full-time onsite position in our New Haven, Connecticut research facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the synthesis, quality control, and assist with the development of radiopharmaceuticals. This role involves working in a GMP-compliant/regulated environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform synthesis and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals or radioactive compounds.
- Develop and optimize radiochemical processes for production and research purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, radiation safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete lab data notebooks as per cGLP and/or cGMP, as appropriate.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment when handling radioactive materials.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain radiochemical equipment and instruments. Monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure performance and safety standards are met.
- Adhere to all applicable procedures, cGLP, cGMPs, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including chemists, clinicians, and QA and regulatory specialists.
- As assigned, travel to production facilities within and outside of North America to assist with set-up and transfer production and QC techniques at contract manufacture organizations (CMO).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Radiochemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC and GC.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Must be willing to work with radioactive materials and follow strict safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience in radiopharmaceutical production, radiochemistry, or a similar field is preferred.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and handling of radioactive materials.
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA, or other regulatory standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated synthesis modules.
- Knowledge of preclinical and clinical research protocols.
Unique Department Requirements:
- This position works in an environment with radioactive materials, radiopharmaceuticals.
- May need to lift up to 50 pounds
- Depending on assignment, it may include travel (up to 50%) to contract manufacturing companies.

The Department of Genetics is seeking a board-eligible/certified Clinical Geneticist to join its faculty at the level of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will become part of an outstanding team of clinical care providers at the Yale School of Medicine.

We are recognized as a Rare Disease Center of Excellence by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), as well as a Diagnostic Center of Excellence under the NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN). There are exciting opportunities to participate in clinical research, including gene therapy and new drug trials for genetic diseases for those who are interested.
The faculty appointee will provide outpatient and inpatient genetic consultations and manage patients as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, including other faculty, nurses, genetic counselors, and a dietitian. The appointee will have the opportunity to join our work to evaluate and manage the Connecticut (CT) newborn screening program by providing consultation services and participating in the advisory council. In addition to providing clinical care, the appointee will participate in teaching trainees and be part of dynamic case conferences and grand rounds. The appointee will have opportunities for collaborative or independent research, community engagement, education and awareness efforts and patient advocacy through the UDN, NORD, and other specialized programs. The Department of Genetics provides clinical care in Medical Genetics in the Yale New Haven Health System. Clinical genetics services include inpatient and outpatient consultation and care. We actively work in collaboration with our state partners on evaluation and management of CT newborn screening program. We have comprehensive clinical laboratory services including on-site cytogenetics and DNA diagnostics services, which provide whole exome/genome testing. The Department sponsors a Medical Genetics Residency program leading to certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics. Admission to the Genetics Residency is directly through the Department.
The Department has a distinguished history of discoveries in medical genetics and has been a global pioneer in using exome sequencing for clinical diagnosis. Role Description

Responsibilities:
Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner, complete vital signs, complete required screenings and complete medication reviews
Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms
Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (Lab results, faxing records to specialists, etc)
In accordance with state regulations, MAs may administer vaccinations, perform point of care tests including but not limited to: A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws for lab testing, etc
Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations
Process orders for durable medical equipment
Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider

The typical pay range for this role is:
$18.50 - $38.82This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
