Location: Denver, CO. This is a primarily on-site role in a historic downtown Denver office, with remote access available when needed and the possibility of a more flexible hybrid schedule after about 6 months based on experience and performance.


Note: Must have 5+ years of civil litigation experience and an active Colorado bar license. Insurance defense experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Manage a civil litigation caseload with a high level of independence
  • Handle matters involving insurance defense, construction litigation, premises liability, commercial disputes, employment matters, and related civil litigation issues
  • Develop case strategy and move files forward efficiently from intake through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents
  • Take and defend depositions and attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Communicate directly with clients, carriers, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Evaluate risk, exposure, and case value, and provide practical recommendations
  • Support trial preparation and, if experienced, take an active role in trial work
  • Collaborate with attorneys across a wide range of practice areas on sophisticated civil matters


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Colorado bar license
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Ability to independently manage and move files
  • Strong writing, advocacy, and case strategy skills
  • Experience with depositions, hearings, mediations, and motion practice
  • Insurance defense experience preferred
  • Additional licensure in Wyoming or Nebraska is a plus
  • Trial experience is a plus
