Description


Manage, develop, and help successfully launch new semi-metallic, non-asbestos organic friction materials for Carlisle’s extensive customer base. Manages a group of formulators of dry and metallic friction products while still being a formulator.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Directly and indirectly develop friction materials in transmission and brakes for off highway (mining, construction, agriculture), aircraft, power sports, recreation, heavy truck, and industrial applications. This will include supervising and some pilot/fabricating of test materials manufactured in plant environments.

· Participate in and sometimes lead project/program management of a typical APQP/stage gate/phased launch process for creating new materials (NPD, NPI).

· Responsible for managing multiple testing plans/DVP&R’s across a broad range of applications, formulas, processes, customers, and plants.

· Regularly report out on program status, team progress, performance and actions.

· Develop personnel performance and development plans in conjunction with company goals.

· Assist in study of markets, customer applications/usage, new technology and regulatory landscape to create technical roadmaps.

· Generates research and development projects with focus on commercialization and product launch.

· Participates in industry associations globally for materials, testing, brakes, and various end-market industry associations.

· Experience in ceramics, polymers, composites, and other materials and material science systems.

· Position requires a strong theoretical knowledge of coppers, steels, non-ferrous powder metallurgy and friction characteristics associated with brakes, clutches and drive trains.

· Experience with composite mixing, molding/bonding, curing/baking, and finishing of dry friction products is desired.

· Some experience with metallic or powdered metallurgy environments is helpful.

· Experience with sintering/brazing and heat treatment of steels is helpful.

· Have the ability to use concepts and tools of Six Sigma as a means to develop materials to meet customer requirements. These can include Design of Experiments (DOE), DFMEA, and the ability to understand a QFD (Quality Functional Deployment) to establish customer critical requirements.

· Interfaces with sales personnel in and on customer visits when necessary. The object is to understand conditions under which the manufactured parts must operate in the longer term from an applications perspective.

· Comfortable presenting technical data sheets, test results, and failure analysis to both internal and external customers.

· Collaborate on equipment setup, operation and maintenance procedures for laboratory and dynamometers.

· Recommends new and improved test procedures to improve test quality and reduce test time.

· Interfaces with product and manufacturing engineering to introduce and further develop new materials.

· Assist production when difficulties occur in manufacturing parts in the engineer’s product area.

· Interfaces with test engineers to develop new test methods and procedures as well as communicating how test data is analyzed and presented.

· Interpreting dynamometer and analytical test lab results.

· Assist quality control and supplier quality to work on production and developmental issues relating to part quality, standards, testing methods, and analysis of defects.

· Support sourcing via helping to identify new suppliers, assisting with supplier audits as necessary, generating standards/specifications for qualifying incoming products.

· Experience in evaluating new raw material sources due to shortage, va/ve, and performance enhancements is highly recommended.

· Assist with the creation and maintenance of ISO/QS documentation and control systems.

Requirements


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

· Minimum of a Bachelors Degree, in Chemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, Composite Materials & Structures, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Masters or Advanced Technical Degree in these fields preferred but not required.


Experience and/or Training:

· Ideally 10-15 years of experience (more preferred) in compounding/formulating, product development, testing, and launch of materials.

· Ideally 3-5 years of experience (more preferred) in managing formulators/compounders.

· Position requires a strong theoretical knowledge of physical properties and materials science relating to the use of such materials in friction material composites.

· Analytical evaluation typically includes DSC, TGA, FTIR, GC Mass spectroscopy, elemental and phase identification, particle size, optical and electron microscopy, particle sizing and compound identification.

· Experience with the use of these materials in friction applications such as brakes, clutches and drivetrains is a plus.

· Practical experience with the use of Six Sigma techniques is desirable but not essential as formal on-site training is available and encouraged.

· A history of successful commercialization of friction materials is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity. Being a BPA makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) profession.

Typical assignments include:

  • Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations.
  • Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.

Qualifications:

GL-9: You qualify for the GL-9 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

  • Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence.
  • Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.

If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level.

GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as:

The Director of Foundation Relations is a key member of Reserve Care’s development team. The Director has primary responsibility for identifying, building and advancing philanthropic partnerships with foundations, corporations, and United Way offices across our 18-county service area in support of HWR’s mission and vision. This includes identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of local and national foundations for five, six and seven figure commitments. This position requires direct outreach to other disciplines including but not limited to the clinical, bereavement, facilities, and finance teams to develop partnerships on cross-departmental projects and grants. In partnership with the grant writer, this position is responsible for development of an annual foundation plan including prospecting to ensure increased revenue year over year. As appropriate, the Director will also help develop the case for support for all capital campaigns and strategic initiatives as well as institutional writing. The idea candidate will have managerial and budget experience as well as a proven track record of increased funding from foundation.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective foundation contacts to identify the intersection of HWR’s work with the foundation’s priorities
  • Create a range of foundation proposals that support the operating needs of HWR including Hospice, Pediatrics and Palliative care by region
  • Strategize with key project staff members to identify annual operating, programmatic, and capital needs as prioritized by the agency
  • Continually identify new foundations and corporations whose funding priorities match HWR’s needs annually; develop the strategy for initial approach, cultivation, and proposal submissions
  • Manage and direct the grant cycle including proposal creation, submission, acknowledgement letters, progress and final reports which set the stage for subsequent requests

Work Environment

Navy Physicians work in a variety of settings, including military medical facilities, ships, and field hospitals, both domestically and internationally. As a Navy Physician, you can work at one of the highly acclaimed National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD; Portsmouth, VA; and San Diego, CA. You might even provide medical support to deployed troops aboard one of two dedicated hospital ships-the USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. Still more opportunities are available aboard a surface ship, working closely with a nearby aircraft squadron, or with the Fleet Marine Force. Reserve Physicians primarily drill one weekend a month at a location near their home.

Training & Advancement

Upon graduation from medical school, those pursuing a Physician position are required to attend Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI. ODS is a five-week program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers. Here they learn about the military structure of the U.S. Navy, its rich history of traditions and customs, leadership development and military etiquette.

Once that training is complete, you will learn the ins and outs of life as a Navy Physician at your first assignment.

Qualifications & Requirements

A degree from a four-year college or university is a minimum educational requirement to become a Commissioned Officer. You must also attend Officer Training. There may be exceptions to the degree requirements based on extensive service experience. Additional qualifications include:

US Navy Reserve Medicine

Serving part-time as a Reservist, your duties will be conducted during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Physicians in the Reserve typically drill at a location close to their homes. This gives the flexibility to expand your medical experiences in the Navy without compromising your civilian practice at home.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent.

Furthermore, serving as a Reservist physician allows for unique and exciting experiences beyond patient care. Career-long learning in areas within and beyond medicine is both the goal and expectation. Job Requirements:

MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)

ODS is a five-week program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers. Officers who previously held a commission in another United States Military Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Public Health Service, or United States Coast Guard are exempt from attending ODS or LDO/CWO Academy.

About the position


The Global Controller is a leader and operator who will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO). As the Global Controller for the consolidated company, the position will oversee & influence accounting operations and directly supports the CAO, CFO & other executive/leadership teams. This role is an integral part of our operations as it will oversee daily financial operations including accounting, treasury, and management reporting. The role requires proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role, as well as management experience in order to delegate and grow the team. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, the goal is to assist streamlining closing cycles, procurement, payroll, and financial reporting as well as produce thorough financial status reports for senior management to help drive strategy, improve our operational efficiency, and aid in our continued growth.

Job Responsibilities



  • Direct all aspects of consolidated global financial reporting, ensuring seamless integration of international subsidiaries while maintaining accuracy in financial statements
  • Accountable for ensuring consistent compliance of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP and coordinate with local accountants on local reporting requirements (e.g. IFRS)
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CAO and exec team by analyzing financial performance, identifying trends/variances, and providing data-driven assumptions to inform budgeting and forecasting
  • Lead the relationship with external auditors to ensure the timely and successful completion of annual audits and regulatory filings globally
  • In partnership with tax department, manage global tax accounting and transfer pricing
  • Manage and drive efficient monthly and quarterly close cycles by leveraging & evaluating existing tooling as well as support innovation by adopting AI, new advanced tooling, and automation to enhance speed and accuracy
  • Design, monitor, and enforce an internal control environment to protect global assets and ensure organizational integrity
  • Maintain organizational readiness for potential M&A and capital market events by maintaining an 'audit-ready' environment and leading the technical purchase accounting / operational integration of new entities
  • Build and foster a strong team culture as we scale and delegate further functions & specialization as well as provide training, mentorship, feedback, and coaching to the accounting teams and direct reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Skills



  • 10+ years of experience in senior accounting/finance leadership roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (CPA preferred)
  • Proven track record managing multi-entity consolidations, timely close cycles, audits, transfer pricing, financial controls and international compliance across US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAPs
  • Familiarity with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or subscription-based revenue recognition and financial reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing relationships with execs, auditors, banking partners, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage, coach, and lead teams, ensuring alignment between accounting and the broader business
  • A significant plus is proficiency with NetSuite, FloQast, and Salesforce and experience leveraging AI tooling for process automation and optimization

A typical day looks like:



  • Establishing and managing field staffing and support.
  • Managing and facilitating all day-to-day activities on the project site.
  • Preparing, reviewing, updating and analyzing project schedules on a regular basis with subcontractors, vendors, and project manager; communicating any schedule changes or adjustments to appropriate parties.
