Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Embedded Validation Engineer to serve as the Controls and Quality Assurance (QA) point of contact for lab validation and sustaining programs. The role focuses on requirements-based validation, disciplined test execution, defect reporting, and traceability across multiple product programs.
The ideal candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering, Product Development, and QA teams to validate embedded control systems, execute lab testing, and improve test automation and validation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements-Based Validation
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering teams to derive validation strategies and test plans from system requirements.
- Develop and maintain requirement-to-test case traceability.
- Ensure validation activities align with product specifications and engineering requirements.
Lab Test Execution
- Serve as the Controls Validation Point of Contact (POC) for lab validation activities.
- Execute validation tests on prototype hardware and embedded control systems.

Documentation & Traceability
- Maintain organized test documentation including test plans, execution logs, and validation reports.

Reporting & Quality Reviews
- Prepare concise 2–3 slide technical summaries of test results and validation findings.
- Present validation updates during PRQRB/SQA or departmental review meetings.
Test Bench & HIL Development
- Design and build test bench setups and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulators for validation.
- Support legacy platforms and existing validation environments.
Automation Development
- Contribute to Python-based test automation and validation frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency through automation.
Product Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support new product development, sustaining engineering, and validation process improvements.
- Drive enhancements in test infrastructure, lab workflows, and validation methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems validation, SQA, or controls testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) fundamentals, including test execution and documentation.
- Experience validating embedded control systems and equipment controls.
- Hands-on experience with lab-based validation and prototype testing.
- Knowledge of controls inputs/outputs, sensors, and system interfaces.

AgileEO specializes in space-based, small aperture visible and IR telescopes with integrated electromechanical devices used for motion and focus control.
The successful candidate will support the program technical leads (Lead or Chief Systems Engineer, IPT Lead) by performing technical analysis, managing specifications, and generating design review and technical documents.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the test and design verification, requirements sell off, end item data package (EIDP) generation efforts.
Essential Functions: System Design and Integration: Develop and integrate advanced electro-optical systems for space-based applications, ensuring compliance with all relevant specifications and mission requirements.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance in systems engineering, including test development, requirements verification and validation (V&V).
Testing and Validation: Design, plan, and execute test procedures for electro-optical components and systems.
Analyze test data to validate system performance against requirements.
Identify and troubleshoot issues, propose corrective actions, and implement solutions.
Requirements Management: Define, manage, and maintain system and sub-system level requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Execution: Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to final system delivery and operation.
Documentation and Reporting: Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, work instructions, test reports, and anomaly reports.
Trade Studies: Develop and evaluate trade studies to support decision-making processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and U.S.
Government customers, to ensure alignment and project success.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure successful system integration and test.
Written and Oral Communication: Demonstrate excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance test methodologies and system integration practices.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or other related scientific discipline and 6 years of relevant EO/IR systems engineering work experience.
Alternatively, a graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Embedded Validation Engineer to serve as the Controls and Quality Assurance (QA) point of contact for lab validation and sustaining programs. The role focuses on requirements-based validation, disciplined test execution, defect reporting, and traceability across multiple product programs.
The ideal candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering, Product Development, and QA teams to validate embedded control systems, execute lab testing, and improve test automation and validation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements-Based Validation
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering teams to derive validation strategies and test plans from system requirements.
- Develop and maintain requirement-to-test case traceability.
- Ensure validation activities align with product specifications and engineering requirements.
Lab Test Execution
- Serve as the Controls Validation Point of Contact (POC) for lab validation activities.
- Execute validation tests on prototype hardware and embedded control systems.
- Document test procedures and record pass/fail outcomes with technical accuracy.
Documentation & Traceability
- Maintain organized test documentation including test plans, execution logs, and validation reports.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defect reports.
Defect Reporting & Tracking
- Identify, document, and report defects with clear technical descriptions and reproducible steps.
- Collaborate with development teams to analyze root causes and track defect resolution.
Reporting & Quality Reviews
- Prepare concise 2–3 slide technical summaries of test results and validation findings.

Test Bench & HIL Development
- Design and build test bench setups and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulators for validation.

Automation Development

Product Support & Continuous Improvement

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems validation, SQA, or controls testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) fundamentals, including test execution and documentation.
- Experience validating embedded control systems and equipment controls.
- Hands-on experience with lab-based validation and prototype testing.
- Knowledge of controls inputs/outputs, sensors, and system interfaces.
- Experience with bench wiring, test setup, and instrumentation.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with engineering basics such as heat exchangers and unit conversions.
- Experience with Python scripting and test automation.
