Additional Information

Compensation: This role offers an annual salary range between $145,000 and $160,000. In addition to a competitive salary, KIPP NC offers a full comprehensive benefits plan, including health care, retirement, and a laptop.

Location: The COO role is a hybrid role with both in-person and remote work with travel expected between KIPP NC's three geographies (Charlotte, Durham, and Halifax/Gaston). The COO must live in North Carolina; Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill is ideal given the area's equal distance from our schools in Charlotte, Halifax, and Gaston.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

  • Patient Volume: 30–40 patients per day

Job Requirements

  • Board Certified Dermatologist (required)
  • Active North Carolina medical license or eligibility (IMLC accepted) — North Carolina license preferred
  • DEA license (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in general dermatology
  • COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations as required by facility policy
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of dermatologic conditions across all ages, including skin of color, hyperpigmentation, hair loss, acne, rosacea, eczema, and more
  • Perform skin cancer screenings, biopsies/spot checks, and treat common conditions such as warts, molluscum, seborrheic dermatitis, fungal infections, cysts/abscesses, psoriasis, tinea versicolor, and actinic keratoses
  • Provide cosmetic dermatology services (Botox, fillers, chemical peels, microneedling, skin tag removal) as part of the hospital-based dermatology offering
  • Collaborate with an experienced Mohs surgeon for specialized procedures and coordinated care
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and efficiently in EPIC EMR
  • Work closely with CMAs, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years as a CRNA; general anesthesia experience preferred
  • Current CRNA certification and ability to meet facility credentialing and privileging requirements
  • Proficiency in regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks: adductor canal, TAP, interscalene, supraclavicular, popliteal
  • Comfortable with Epic EMR documentation and perioperative anesthesia workflows
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care
  • Willingness to work both 8-hour and occasional 10-hour shifts as scheduled

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality general and regional anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases (CRNA responsibilities, perioperative anesthesia)
  • Perform ultrasound-guided and landmark-based regional nerve blocks for perioperative pain management
  • Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively, manage emergence, and provide post-anesthesia care
  • Document all care accurately in Epic EMR and adhere to clinical protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nursing, and perioperative teams in a medical supervision model
  • Maintain compliance with patient safety standards, infection control, and institutional policies
