Required or Preferred Experience:

Joining us as a Multi-Unit Team Leader, you'll provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices. Using your people management experience and passion for helping people, you'll provide leadership to the customer-centric teams in the offices you manage to accelerate their seasonal tax business.

You'll serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office related growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.

You will start a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season. From January to April, you will transition to full-time, including evening and weekend hours as needed. Please note that this role is not remote and will require you to work in-person.

• Multi-unit people management experience in the retail, restaurant, banking, or other related industry

• Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
• Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, which includes developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement
• Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions
• Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with Associate Relations Center to resolve associate issues and address performance concerns
• Build an engaging team environment, across all offices, by training and coaching associates recognizing outstanding associate contributions
• Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
• Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping, as well as labor management for associates in all offices
• Travel between offices as required
• Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment*

The Seasonal Worker is responsible for delighting Thorntons guests with prompt and courteous service, maintaining merchandise, and supporting store goals and initiatives.

Essential Job Functions (RESPONSIBLE TO)

* Delivers guest service with a \"how may I help you\" attitude. Looks for opportunities to delight guests and follows instructions from store management.

* Ring all sales as discussed in the operations procedures.

* Assure proper sale and accounting of money orders/lottery during shift.

* Accurately account for price overrides, store use of merchandise, voids, returns and waste.

* Keep coolers, fast lane merchandise, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.

* Clean and maintain equipment and ready high-margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc.

* Use suggestive selling techniques to suggest items to guests that complement their purchases, and asks our guests if they are a refreshing rewards member at the beginning of every transaction.

* Ensure that the Store Management is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies.

* Clean windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps regularly, and restrooms per store operating procedures (daily check list).

* Clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the store as needed.

* Advise store management of any maintenance or safety problems.

* Practices safe working habits that align with company safety rules

* Properly uses the Guest Service Department for guest service issues

WORK CONDITIONS Exposure to: Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including walk-in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500 degrees or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

SENSING Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. TEMPERAMENTS The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgements and decisions.

Additional Job Details PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Including, but not limited to the following: Standing Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking For short distances for short durations. Surfaces include ceramic tile \"bricks\" with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36\" and 48\". Sitting Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table. Lifting Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck. Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5'. Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72\" high. Carrying Large cans, weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, are carried from the workstation to storage shelves. Occasionally, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds is carried from the storage room to the front of the store. Trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, and weigh approximately 12 pounds per tray. Pushing To move trays which are placed on dollies. A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24\" - 30\" and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push. Trays may also be pulled. Climbing Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance. Stooping/Bending Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station. Toe room is present, but workers are unable to flex their knees while standing at this station. Duration of this position is approximately 30 - 45 seconds at one time, repeated continuously during the day. Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients. Crouching/Squatting Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas. Reaching Reaching is performed continuously; up, down and forward. Workers reach above 72\" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves. • Be available for on-call duties as required

Requirements:

• Need 2 years experience in setting
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA)
• Valid state licenses in Illinois and Iowa
• EPIC experience required
• Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility
• COVID-19 vaccine (medical and religious exemptions may apply)
