Role: Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations.
Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities.
They make an impact in all kinds of ways – from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced AI lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users.
What’s more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software and AI solutions development.
Responsibilities: • Responsible for assisting in the design of the computing infrastructure within the lab computing environment.
• Responsible for deployment of new servers and storage arrays.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the technical environment for problems.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures.
• Identify system performance issues and develop tools for better system management.
• Ensure that all services are consistently available to all end users.
• Provide technical assistance and consulting to the users if necessary.
• Complete proactive and preventative system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory records.
• Be the part for Shared Services Lab Operations Engineering team • Partner with the Product Engineering team in creating and executing solutions for their requirements and needs • Be a part of team in executing large projects and programs • Maintaining and document processes needed in Lab Operations • Mentor other lab support technicians on various technologies • Provide general architectural level client/server and SAN/storage array support for the configuration and maintenance of the engineering computer lab systems for the lab computing environment.
• Responsible for executing the test configuration plans for the lab computing environment infrastructure.
• Responsible for ensuring proper deployment of fiber-channel and IP storage arrays, hosts, switches, software, and storage networking infrastructure.
• Ensure that the technical environment is properly monitored and that any problems are rectified.
• Maintain working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, makes recommendations and assists to implement efficiencies.
• Mentor and project-supervise less experienced technicians.
• Identify system or storage performance issues and participate in the development of tools to improve system management.
• Provides technical expertise in the development of collaborative solutions and preventative system upgrades.
• Responsible for delivering shared services using Scrum at Scale Model • Responsible for creating and executing infrastructure automation
