Job Summary
Performs daily imaging and delivers daily prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to radiation therapy patients safely and accurately. The therapist incorporates their technical knowledge of the equipment and expertise of clinical treatment set-up, anatomical landmarks, treatment recording and management during patient care. The therapist must be able to interact effectively and accurately with patients and their family members, physicians, healthcare workers, and radiation oncology department personnel. General Summary of Position

Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) certified as Radiologic Technologists also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

- Cleans stocks and sterilizes equipment in addition to cleaning and preparing patient rooms for care delivery.

Education

Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT ARRT Certification; required and
- Must have a Maryland Virginia or DC State License-Certified Medical Radiation whichever is applicable to location of the position; required and
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and

Job Summary
Responsible for administration of nuclear imaging procedures, calculation, diagnostic, therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, and adjunctive medications using a variety of equipment and strictly adhering to relevant safety standards. Performs quality nuclear medicine imaging examinations through the application of advanced technical knowledge while maintaining strict attention to patient care in accordance with department policy and procedure. Carry out hot lab duties and perform a variety of nuclear medicine studies on inpatients and outpatients in all age groups from neonate to geriatric. Have an understanding of nuclear regulatory commission (NRC) rules and regulations, practice radiation safety, safely operate all cameras and equipment in the department, process and send data to required destinations via computer. Understands the theories and principles behind the equipment and tests performed in the nuclear medicine department.
Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutically dosages under the direction of a physician. Employs radiation-detecting equipment to perform patient imaging procedures; describes procedures to patients and answers questions. Implements radiation safety standards and quality assurance into daily work and monitors a patient's condition during the course of an imaging procedure. Collects patient information, analyzes data and provides quality images for a physician to diagnose a patient.
Dependent on needs of facility and department may also be responsible and cross-trained in performing positron emission tomography computed tomography (PETCT) scans with thorough understanding of all processes related to PETCT. Has ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures after appropriate orientation to the department. Able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. Thoroughly understand the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilize new technologies. Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations. Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with patients and all organizational staff.
Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the sonography field. Displays empathy, compassion, and integrity.
Possesses an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Conducts self professionally at all times, even during moments of high stress.
Assists when necessary with the maintenance of accreditation requirements and processes. Understands age-related protocols for various testing. Coordinate work with physicians or other healthcare team members, including providing assistance during invasive procedures when applicable.
Supervises and train students and medical sonographers as needed. Reports and calls in-service requests on equipment when needed.
Additionally, based on the facility, some Sanford markets/facility sites may expand job responsibilities to include echocardiography.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging, Allied Health Certificate/Diploma or a minimum of one year
equivalent work experience is preferred.
Registration in at least one of the following areas of sonography is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible.
Registry preferred within two years after hiring.
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
For employees who provide outreach mobile services, maintenance of a valid driver's license and good driving record is required. This may include passenger on flights and occasional overnight stays at assigned sites. Employees are held to the Sanford category driver's license policy and medical guidelines when applicable for job duties.

Job Summary
Performs daily imaging and delivers daily prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to radiation therapy patients safely and accurately. The therapist incorporates their technical knowledge of the equipment and expertise of clinical treatment set-up, anatomical landmarks, treatment recording and management during patient care. The therapist must be able to interact effectively and accurately with patients and their family members, physicians, healthcare workers, and radiation oncology department personnel.
