Key Role Responsibilities - Core
SCHEDULER FAMILY - CORE
- Prepares, builds and updates project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
- Performs schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices for scheduling are utilized. Diplomatically communicates review comments to the project team.
- Participates in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the creation of proposal schedules, baseline schedule and ongoing schedule updates.
- Utilizes working knowledge of JE Dunn scheduling software.
- Assists with and performs training for JE Dunn operations. Assists with training content and course preparation for training delivered by the group.
- Assists with the development of best practices for JE Dunn planning and scheduling efforts.
- Visits job sites regularly to review job status and applies construction sequencing knowledge to accurately update the project schedule for assigned projects.
- May attend project related meetings and/or jobsite-specific meetings where emphasis on schedule is discussed.
- Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by ensuring CPM schedule is aligned with pull plan results.
- Supports the preparation of a variety of reports as required for assigned projects.
- Adds resource loading and cost loading, when required, to schedules collaboratively created with the project teams.
- Provides planning and scheduling support to operations, marketing and other IPS functions as directed.
- Understands that market and regional information are a part of project schedules such as: seasonal weather patterns, materials markets, labor forces and other factors that may impact each project schedule.
- Participates in pursuit opportunities with business development and the project team.
SENIOR SCHEDULER
In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:
- Develops and facilitates planning and scheduling training programs for internal team members including content creation and implementation planning.
- Leads project teams in assessing sequencing and methods of construction, project delays and impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules.
- Leads planning and scheduling group best practice and process development efforts.
- Develops and maintains a library of standard project schedule templates for internal use as a starting point.
- Participates in pursuit opportunities, including interviews and external client meetings during the pursuit phase.
- Supports project teams to coordinate with trade partners’ schedule issues and recovery schedules.
- Participates and provides feedback in job pre-planning meetings, post construction meetings, and monthly project status review meetings.

- Help improve and refine internal estimating tools, templates, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs using industry tools such as On-Screen Takeoff.
- Review drawings and specifications to develop accurate labor, material, and equipment cost estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure complete bid coverage.
- Produce conceptual budgets and detailed estimates across multiple project stages.
- Compile professional bid proposals clearly outlining assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Work closely with field and operations teams to ensure a smooth handoff once projects are awarded.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 2 years of experience in concrete estimating, ideally on large-scale commercial or structural concrete projects.
- Demonstrated experience pricing complex cast-in-place concrete scopes.
- Strong proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Microsoft Excel, and estimating software.

This role serves as a strategic advisor to clients, bridging vision, technical feasibility, and financial discipline. The position requires executive presence, strong consultative instincts, and the ability to translate complex building and infrastructure considerations into clear, actionable recommendations that drive long-term value.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to clients during early project development and planning phases.
- Partner closely with client executives and internal commercial leaders to support project visioning, feasibility, and decision-making.
- Lead site assessments and facility walk-throughs to identify risks, opportunities, and value-enhancing solutions.
- Translate complex technical analyses into clear, client-ready presentations and recommendations.
- Bridge sales, technical design, and delivery teams to align vision, scope, budget, and execution strategy.
- Guide group decision-making through strong facilitation, presence, and communication.
- Independently manage project development efforts from initial concept through client approval.
- Develop comprehensive analyses related to building systems, site development, and facility performance.
- Balance innovative problem-solving with practical budget constraints and technical realities.
- Build and sustain long-term, trust-based client relationships through consistent delivery and credibility.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, design, and delivery teams to advance projects toward implementation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in building planning, site development, pre-construction design, and construction across building systems.
- Broad technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building envelope systems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience building trust-based client relationships through strong communication and executive presence.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to guide group decision-making.
- Experience supporting K–12 facilities, educational programs, or capital planning initiatives is preferred.
- Background in energy analysis, utility evaluation, or energy savings calculations is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), AIA, or comparable professional certification is preferred.
- Consultative mindset with a balance of creativity, analytical rigor, and fiscal responsibility.
