Job Description
*OVERVIEW*
The Ministry Intern will help fulfill First & Calvary’s mission (to labor alongside our Father as he draws people to Jesus & grows them as disciples) by assisting with ministry to youth and/or young adults while being developed as an emerging leader.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
Candidates for this position are developing ministry leaders with at least a high school level degree who are passionate about Christ and excited to disciple others. Other qualifications include the following:
* growing and deepening faith in Jesus Christ
* desire to come alongside those who are spiritually seeking
* heart for ministering to younger generations
* interest in being mentored in ministry
* ability to understand and relate to those in their ministry area (youth or young adult)
* commitment to team ministry
* willingness to embrace our denomination’s Constitution, including our Essential Tenets. More information can be found at *RESPONSIBILITIES*
The primary responsibilities will revolve around assisting with ministry to either youth ages 6th-12th grade and/or college students and young adults. These responsibilities could include:
* seeking out and developing mentoring and discipleship relationships with students
* support students by developing relationships and attending their games, performances, etc.
* assisting with weekly discipleship activities on Sunday mornings and other times when applicable
* attending and assisting with outreach events, service projects, retreats, and/or mission trips
* assisting with administrative duties like sending out ministry communications, scheduling volunteers, social media, etc.
* teaching or preaching if interest and giftings exist, receiving coaching and mentoring in the various aspects of ministry in a church context
* other duties as assigned
*EMPLOYMENT & APPLICATION DETAILS*
This is a part-time position – average 5-9 hours / per week – which reports to the Minister of Youth & Young Adults. Salary is dependent on the applicant’s skills and experience. This internship is for the school year with consideration to renew for future school years. Summer hours are possible depending upon need and availability.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
