As a Flight Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will automate the operation of highly complex aircraft systems. Our Flight Software teams are deeply involved in all aspects of the development and certification of the Reliable Robotics autonomy stack, and play a central role in bringing our aircraft to life.

Responsibilities

In your role as Flight Software Engineer, you will develop highly deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment that works with sensors & control systems, robustly handles system faults, and integrates with other vehicle subsystems. You'll drive requirements and implement excellent unit tests. You'll also have the opportunity to work directly with flight hardware in the lab and on the plane, plan flight testing, and watch your code fly an aircraft.

As a Displays Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the remote piloting software team. This team is responsible for building the pilot-facing application software that is used to command the aircraft's advanced automation systems - both onboard, and remotely. You will join a team of interdisciplinary and mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics, and self-driving vehicles.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Displays Software Engineer, your primary focus will be designing, architecting, and building a variety of real-time user interface applications for controlling our automated aircraft systems. These can range from browser-based applications to real-time embedded UIs on aviation-grade hardware. All of these applications will support our work to build a fully certified system in multiple ways: they will serve as a platform for rapidly prototyping different workflows and designs; they will be directly used in our ongoing experimental test flight programs; and they will ultimately serve as a reference implementation for our certified displays and controls. You will have ownership over the entire lifecycle of these applications and will work with software engineers and designers within the team, as well as systems engineers and pilots to build systems that are safe, user-centered, and certifiable.

Hardware Test Engineers are one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and are exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.

You will be creating automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr. Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer, you will assist in the design and installation of modified flight control systems, throughout the development of a remotely operated autoflight system. You will ensure the proper build-up of functions and capabilities, beginning in the lab and ending on the vehicle. You will be expected to verify the end-to-end functionality of the system and ensure the ability to assess all desired test requirements. This will require engaging with many teams throughout the organization and having a firm understanding of the vehicle's capabilities. You will be responsible for building and integrating our automated aviation system on aircraft, providing design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) input, and developing processes and infrastructure to help the business scale. • Build, installation, diagnostics, inspection, and maintenance of Reliable designed products, line replaceable units (LRUs), harnessing and interconnects

• Performs routine/non-routine inspections and maintenance to ensure aircraft safety and availability

• Maintains records of aircraft installations, maintenance, and modifications

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of full cycle electronics hardware test or development experience in a professional environment

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals

• Extensive experience with test equipment, measurement techniques, and processes for hardware verification

• Experience with programming/scripting languages (C, C++, Python) and ability to develop and maintain test software

Preferred Criteria

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

• Familiarity with formal industry test standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461/810, or similar

• Experience developing and simulating complex and manufacturable printed circuit board assemblies using tools such as Altium Designer and SPICE

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr. Harness Engineer you will work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the harness architecture, including routing, bulkhead planning, and manufacturing and integration processes. You'll be responsible for the detailed design of both flight and test harnesses, and you'll be working with the production technicians and A&Ps to get the harnesses built and installed on the aircraft. Basic Success Criteria
