The Signal Lab in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech is seeking a Research Scientist to lead and advance cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence. The role will involve laboratory management, project oversight, and business development activities to name a few.

1. Research Leadership in Foundation Models, World Models, and Frontier AI

• Lead and execute advanced research programs in large-scale AI, including foundation model architectures, multimodal representation learning, world models, agentic systems, and self-supervised learning at scale.
• Design and evaluate new training algorithms, model architectures, and scalable pipelines for language, vision, audio, robotics, simulation, and multi-agent environments.
• Develop GPU-, TPU-, and cluster-optimized training frameworks, distributed training systems, and inference-time optimization pipelines for next-generation AI models.
• Publish high-impact papers in top AI/ML venues, release open-source tools, and contribute to Georgia Tech's AI research leadership and national strategic priorities.

2. Lab Management and AI Compute Infrastructure Operations

• Oversee daily operations of the AI research lab, including GPU clusters, high-performance storage, distributed training stacks, and data governance frameworks.
• Manage, maintain, and expand high-performance compute infrastructure: multi-node GPU clusters, distributed data loaders, RL/simulation environments, and model evaluation frameworks.

4. Project Management and PhD Mentorship

• Mentor PhD students, postdocs, and research engineers working on foundation models, world models, agentic systems, and large-scale representation learning.

Job Title: Data Engineer

Role Overview:

BEPC is seeking a Data Engineer to support our client by designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and architectures. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with large datasets, cloud platforms, and modern data technologies to drive business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Build and optimize data architectures, models, and database systems for performance and scalability.
• Develop data solutions using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security, especially with sensitive datasets.
• Integrate data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, and flat files.
• Support analytics and machine learning initiatives with clean, reliable datasets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and performance issues.
• Document systems, workflows, and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Strong experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar big data tools.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization.
• Experience working with large-scale and distributed data systems.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with real-time data processing or streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with industrial data systems (e.g., PLCs, LabVIEW).
• Exposure to machine learning workflows or data science collaboration.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.

• 2-5 years' Data Science and/or Business Analyst experience
• Master's Degree preferred

• Ability to interpret existing dashboards and datasets and identify meaningful insights

Physical Automation Director

Onsite in Anderson, SC (relocation support available)

$180-210k + bonus

I am recruiting for a very exciting Physical Automation Director position with a US-based consumer goods manufacturing company who are looking for a leader who can lead their physical automation initiatives with the goal reducing manual operations across their manufacturing & warehouse processes.

This is a greenfield opportunity with the responsibility of defining a company-wide physical automation roadmap, with the end goal being a no-human interaction with machines across their operations and maintenance. This role will create business cases for and prioritize the rollouts of physical automation projects and leading cross-functional teams across the business to execute these projects. We’re looking for someone who can identify, curate and lead relationships with suppliers, labs and universities who can provide solutions and support the company vision of moving toward an automated world.

Key skills & experience:

• Demonstrable experience implementing automation projects to improve process efficiency, reduce human interaction, reduce waste and maximize profit
• Should have experience with Self-guided vehicles, ASRS, robots (humanoid, dogs, etc.), sensors & cameras, cobots, AI solutions for machines and manual operation automation
• Comfortable working with suppliers, industry leaders, university scholars and labs – can also expert to be attending industry events and conferences
• Strong cross-functional leadership and project management background, with the capability to oversee automation implementations and rollouts
• Ideally come from a fast-moving/high-volume CPG manufacturing background. Open to other manufacturing areas too
