Ride Control Hardware Engineers work within Walt Disney Imagineering's Ride Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. Engineering activities cover all aspects of control system design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative ride platforms.

The Ride Control Hardware Engineer will report to the Ride Control Systems Engineering Executive.

This is a full time role.

What You Will Do:

* Support programmable, electrical, and electronic hardware scope to design and deliver control systems for complex, innovative ride systems
* Perform engineering design and analysis for ride systems, focusing on electrical control systems
* Develop control system and network architectures
* Design, model, and analyze electrical supply systems
* Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
* Lead a team of ride control engineers and collaborate with other professionals to develop ride control systems
* Develop control equipment requirements and specifications
* Develop and implement proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes
* Conduct hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysis
* Manage vendors, contractors, and consultants developing and implementing ride control systems
* Define and oversee supplier and consultant design and delivery
* Ensure all delivery and performance requirements are satisfied
* Conduct factory acceptance tests and ride system installation

Required Qualifications & Skills

* 10+ Years experience in the Engineering field as related to controlling electromechanical systems
* Experienced in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
* Extensive knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
* Highly proficient in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
* Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
* Extensive knowledge of electrical design standards and codes, including UL508a and NEC
* Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
* Expertise in motor and motion control methods and components
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-year durations.
* Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, coordinate team efforts, and manage tasks and priorities

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

* Licensed professional engineer
* Proficient with engineering design tools including AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, EPLAN
* Proficient in Rockwell and Siemens automation systems architecture and components
* Electrical and troubleshooting skills (voltmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
* Knowledge of international amusement industry standards applicable in France, Hong Kong, or China

Education

* As a minimum a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited university, Electrical Engineering preferred

Job Summary

The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory ( ) seeks self-motivated and talented individuals to participate in and support operations of a research laboratory. Our mission is to develop and translate approaches, devices, algorithms, and agents with clinical impact based on a synergistic combination of biomedical imaging, image-guided therapy, and bionanotechnology. Overall, we are a collaborative, full-spectrum research group leading the discovery, development, and integration of biomedical imaging technologies and theranostic agents for both fundamental research and clinical applications.

The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory is part of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine.

The research engineer will provide technical oversight of the research laboratory operations focused on in-vitro/preclinical/clinical imaging. The responsibilities will include daily interactions with graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical collaborators, and other researchers, technical and other support to research staff, and direct reporting to the Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Designing and fabricating electro-mechanical systems;
  • Facilitate construction and maintenance of custom lab equipment (ultrasound transducers and imaging systems, laser systems, motorized linear axis and robotic positioners, etc.);
  • Maintain instrumentation, implement best practices and training;
  • Serve as a technical source for the researchers in the laboratory;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related area.



Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in science or engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biology);
  • Experience in mechanical fabrication and/or circuitry;
  • Experience with ultrasound or laser systems including NDE, diagnostic/therapeutic ultrasound, nanosecond pulsed lasers;
  • Programming skills in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, C++ desirable;
  • Ability to assess and remedy difficult problems and situations quickly and efficiently;
  • Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment;
  • Ability to work in physical, hands on environment;
  • Ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to projects and laboratory;
  • Exhibits creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in conducting research programs/projects.

Job Summary

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Heterogeneous Integration and Advanced Packaging (HI/AP). The School is interested in HI/AP topics including, but not limited to: bonding technologies for 3DHI, co-packaged photonics, 2.5D/3D HI technologies, advanced materials for HI/AP, system co-design and optimization, glass-core packaging technologies, and advanced assembly and interconnect technologies. Focus on system level demonstrations using HI/AP and circuit/system co-design are relevant.

The School seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research achievement, and a strong aptitude and interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as interest and experience in translating their research to commercial applications. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent. The candidate will also be associated with the Georgia Tech Packaging Research Center, which is a multidisciplinary research center with strong industry and government support devoted to heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging.

The Opportunity

The Institute of Simulation and Training (IST) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure earning, embedded research training and engineer-oriented, research position. This is a full-time Contract and Grants (C&G)-based faculty position to support ongoing federally sponsored research in a long-standing and agile R&D lab. We are seeking an Assistant In Embedded Training Researcher/Software Engineer with expertise in advanced algorithms and software development, computer visualization, and immersive training technologies to support the design, development, and implementation of next-generation embedded, visual, and intelligent research training systems. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team conducting applied research in simulation-based training, modeling, and opportunity-based training systems.

Key Responsibilities


  • Research, design, develop, and implement software to enhance training in real-world and 3D environments. Develop high-fidelity visual simulation and application prototypes.


  • Research and develop frameworks for embedded hardware and software for advanced embedded training systems.


  • Work with interdisciplinary teams including engineers, cognitive scientists, and domain experts to define research objectives, design experiments, and analyze results.


  • Create prototypes and capabilities demonstrators to showcase IST's expertise aligned with trends and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong applicants will have experience in at least three of the following areas:


  • Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality concepts and development experience
  • Artificial Intelligence use

    • Working knowledge of Unity's ML Agents or similar systems
    • Computer Vision applications development using AI techniques

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Conceive, plan, and conduct individual research in broad areas relevant to the mission of the laboratory (imaging, therapy and contrast/therapeutic agents.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the laboratory in your area of expertise.

Our client operates a recreational facility that offers a variety of swimming, tennis and clubhouse activities. It is a private, member-owned golf and country club. They are looking to fill the position of a Food & Beverage


Job Summary:

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for leading and elevating the dining experience for Members and guests by overseeing all food and beverage operations at the Club. This position ensures that service standards reflect the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, maintaining an exceptional atmosphere in all dining areas, lounges, and banquet facilities. The Manager will drive operational excellence, member satisfaction, and financial performance while upholding the traditions and prestige of the Club.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Service & Operations Management:

  • Establish and enforce premier service standards, ensuring an elegant and seamless dining experience in all Club dining areas and events.
  • Oversee all aspects of dining room preparation, including staffing levels, table settings, linens, glassware, and overall ambiance.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of all food and beverage outlets to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for Members and guests.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with Members to anticipate needs and enhance their experience.

Staffing & Training:

  • Hire, train, and develop service staff with a focus on professionalism, attention to detail, and superior hospitality.
  • Ensure staff are in proper uniform and adhere to the Club’s dress code and appearance standards.
  • Conduct pre-shift, pre-meal, and pre-event meetings to maintain clear communication and alignment across all departments.
  • Evaluate and mentor staff performance, providing feedback and corrective action when necessary.

Member Relations & Service Excellence:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with Members, ensuring personalized service and responsiveness to preferences.
  • Address and resolve member concerns with discretion and professionalism, ensuring an exceptional experience.
  • Implement service enhancements and training programs to exceed member expectations consistently.

Financial & Inventory Management:

  • Develop and monitor budgets, controlling costs while optimizing revenue opportunities through strategic menu planning, promotions, and special events.
  • Conduct monthly beverage inventories and quarterly audits of china, glassware, and silverware.
  • Implement strategic upselling initiatives and train staff in effective sales techniques to maximize profitability.

Event Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to design and maintain seasonal menus that reflect the Club’s culinary excellence.
  • Collaborate with event planning teams to execute seamless private events, banquets, and Club functions.
  • Ensure proper staffing and coordination for all special events, ensuring a high-caliber guest experience.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies, ensuring compliance with Club standards and local regulations.
  • Train staff in responsible alcohol service, including legal drinking age verification and handling intoxicated guests appropriately.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) when necessary, ensuring the Club is secure and operations run smoothly.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven leadership experience in a high-end hospitality, private club, or fine dining setting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
