Job Description

We're looking for a strong Hardware Engineer with hands-on experience in board bring-up, debugging, and design validation for a 12-month contract opportunity in San Jose, CA.

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Experience: 5–10 Years

Key Responsibilities:

Board Bring-Up & Debug

  • Lead first power-on, early bring-up, and stabilization of complex PCB boards
  • Validate power sequencing, voltage rails, clocks, resets, and boot paths
  • Debug board-level issues using schematics, layouts, and lab tools
  • Perform root cause analysis across power, signal integrity, thermal, and functional issues

DVT (Design Validation Testing)

  • Create and execute DVT plans (functional, electrical, performance, stress testing)
  • Validate high-speed interfaces: PCIe Gen4/Gen5, Ethernet, SerDes, DDR/LPDDR, optical modules
  • Perform corner testing (voltage, temperature, frequency, load conditions)
  • Track and resolve hardware issues through validation cycles

System & Firmware Collaboration

  • Work closely with firmware, BIOS, BMC, and driver teams during bring-up
  • Support FPGA/SoC configuration and debug (JTAG, UART, I2C, SPI)
  • Assist in automation using Python/shell scripting and lab tools

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in board bring-up and hardware debugging
  • Hands-on with lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces and validation
  • Solid understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, and system-level debugging
  • Basic scripting (Python or shell) is a plus
