JOB SUMMARY:

As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of any given project. Additionally, the Project Manager ensures budget and deadlines are met and consistent with project standards.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Create a Schedule of Values for our pay applications and submit to the General Contractor.
• Analyze the construction schedule and create a schedule for submittals, material ordering and estimated field labor durations & project completion.
• Create submittals for doors, frames and hardware from architectural plans and specification.
• Manage and respond to electronic contractual changes (RFI’s, PC’s, Etc.). Quote changes that affect our material and/or labor cost. Distribute Change Order Due letters to the contractor.
• Order materials (Purchase orders) from approved submittals for timely delivery according to the construction schedule or as agreed upon with the contractor for billed and stored material.
• Support the Performance Door project field supervisor for the timely delivery of materials according to the construction schedule. Send field use drawings periodically reflecting updated schedules incorporating project revisions.
• Provide monthly pay application to the accounting department including back up documentation for stored or FSC materials.
• Actively pursue contractual “Change Orders” from “price and proceed” CO Due letters. Take an active role in collecting money.
• Approve weekly vendor invoices for payment. Check vendor costs against our purchase order.
• Other job duties and responsibilities as needed.

The Field Engineer I assists in ensuring construction project activities comply with company and contract requirements and supports the overall project schedule by providing technical support for construction, including participation in planning, execution, quality control, and completion of the work.

This role also assists in ensuring compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols.

The Field Engineer I will contribute to the management of overall project performance and assist in identifying potential stakeholder conflicts. They are responsible for communicating project risks to the PM as they arise and assisting in the development of appropriate risk mitigation steps. This role contributes to the management of overall project performance.

Additionally, the Field Engineer I aids in ensuring that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. The ideal candidate will lead by example in an environment that fosters trust and candor, will maintain personal accountability, and will communicate assertively and constructively.

• Exposure to construction or utility industry
• Experienced in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Varied to Broad problem-solving skills

Minimum Educational Background:

BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business and/or equivalent years of experience

• Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly safety visits /inspection in accord with the Henkels Safety Action Plan.
• Provide assistance and technical expertise in implementation of all areas of the safety program.
• Provide training and mentorship on Daily Job Brief meetings and paperwork.
• Provide training and education of staff in safety philosophies and safe work practices.
• Deploy oversight processes which ensure the integrity of safety inspecting, training and reporting procedures.
• Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction phases of projects, focusing on safe work practices and equipment needed to successfully complete the scope of work.
• Lead development of Activity Hazard Analysis, Daily Job Briefings, Work Site Observation Reports and Safety Action Plans.
• Track and verify that corrective actions are completed in a timely manner. Review all incident reports to ensure corrective actions are completed. Take a pro-active role in investigating all OSHA recordables and High Loss Potential incidents.
• Assist in any other functions required by management.
• Interface with Customers and vendors on safety related issues.

Requirements:

• 2 - 5+ years in Safety related staff and management positions.
• Power distribution overhead and civil underground experience preferred.
• Experience working on an Exelon property is a plus.
• CUSP certificate with Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, CUSA, OSHA 510, OSHA 500 etc.

Requirements:

• Gas distribution, Water distribution, Substation, and Utility Construction experienced preferred.
• Prepare & Review Site specific Safety Plans/Lift Plans.
• Ability to manage EHS effort for large projects with multiple subcontractors
• Conduct and document routine jobsite safety inspections
• Demonstrated competencies in areas of excavation, rigging practices, confined spaces, scaffolding and fall protection.
• OSHA 500/510 certification preferred
• Strong Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction and 1910 general industry standards
• Experienced in accident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge in underground damage prevention.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Familiarization with PSEG, Elizabethtown Gas, and New Jersey American Water preferred but not required.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex power utility construction projects. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle ownership, including safety, cost, schedule, quality, client relationships, and team leadership. The Senior Project Manager serves as a key liaison between clients, internal leadership, and field operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of electrical distribution, transmission, and substation construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, ensuring strong relationships, clear communication, and client satisfaction.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support staff; promote professional development and accountability.
• Oversee financial performance of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete, change management, and margin optimization.
• Monitor and analyze project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) to proactively manage cost and schedule risks.
• Review and approve contracts, change orders, subcontractor agreements, and procurement strategies.
• Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure alignment between project plans and execution.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality requirements; champion H&M’s safety culture.
• Identify project risks and opportunities; develop and implement mitigation and recovery plans as needed.
• Lead project meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Oversee project documentation, reporting, billing, and closeout activities.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, estimates, and client presentations as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, preferably within utility infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex utility projects with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of utility standards, NESC codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance.
• Proven leadership experience managing project teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore, or similar).
• Ability to read, interpret, and manage construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, or municipal power companies.
• Knowledge of permitting, easement acquisition, right-of-way coordination, and utility relocation.
• PMP certification, OSHA 30, or other relevant professional certifications.
• Strong negotiation, risk management, and client-facing skills.
