Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor (Specialty Ingredients)

Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for a leading manufacturer of high-quality liquid and dry food-grade ingredients located in the Austin, TX area. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a logistics team within a fast-paced, climate-controlled production environment. The Supervisor will oversee all warehouse operations, including incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods, ensuring compliance with strict safety and food-quality standards. Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of specialized food-grade ingredients.
• Coordinate outbound shipments of liquid and dry compounds, ensuring all hazardous materials (if applicable) and food-safety documentation are accurate.
• Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation within the ERP/Warehouse Management System.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of freight carriers, verifying bills of lading and inspecting incoming materials for damage or non-compliance.
• Ensure all warehouse activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and OSHA safety standards.
• Lead and train a team of warehouse associates and forklift operators, fostering a culture of safety and precision.
• Optimize warehouse space and organization to improve flow and efficiency for the production and compounding departments.
• Manage the procurement of shipping supplies and maintain equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Communicate effectively with production, quality control, and customer service teams to meet shipment deadlines.
• Resolve logistical discrepancies and manage carrier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Additional Information:

• Years of Experience: 3–5+ years of supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management.

What You’ll Do

Procurement & Supply Chain

•        Source ingredients and packaging materials that meet our quality standards

•        Partner with leadership on supplier selection and pricing negotiations

•        Manage supplier relationships and onboarding

•        Oversee raw material and packaging purchasing to support production schedules

•        Track incoming shipments and ensure supply continuity

Plant Operations

•        Oversee day-to-day plant operations and production scheduling

Inventory & Demand Planning

•        Ensure plant and operational processes meet food safety and regulatory standards

R&D Support

•        Archive product formulas and production documentation

•        Assist with scaling new products from R&D to full production

Job Description

The ideal candidate is responsible for managing specific accounts within designated territory. Responsibilities include maximizing existing business with current customers as well as the development of new accounts in the Specialty Retail segments. Accountable for profitable sales growth, allotted budget maintenance, new product placements, and promotional activities.

Essential Functions

• Maximize existing business with current customers as well as develop new accounts focused on the segments of Specialty Retail. Introduce customers to new products and marketing campaigns. Present plans to manager on initiatives to grow sales – i.e., ads, spiffs, demos, OI’s, Bill Backs. Conduct ongoing business planning reviews. Responsible for securing quarterly Distributor sales reports.
• Work closely with key distributors to maximize their distribution capabilities as well as manage the overall cost of doing business with these key partners.
• Work directly with Distributor reps and Broker network when applicable and provide trainings and customer ride withs.
• Regularly present new items to customer base. Manage overall sample spend by territory.
• Work with manager for approval to develop and personalize sell sheets specific to Distributors in your region.
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge.
• Participation in regional and national food shows including coordination of deadlines and requirements with food show coordinator.
