Job Description
The Food Server, under general supervision, obtains guest food and beverage orders. Responsible areas may include Banquets, 19 Steak & Seafood, Stadium Sports Bar & Grill, Out of Bounds, and any food venue created for the purpose of guest service.
The Food Server:
- Ensures accurate and timely service of all orders by working with kitchen personnel.
- Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor. Be polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members.
- Responsible for learning and being familiar with all of Boyd Gaming, Inc.’s room outlets, server functions, and for being able to answer general questions regarding the property.
- Anticipate the guest’s needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings to answer guest questions and provide suggestions. This includes but not limited to knowledge of food items; preparation methods and wine knowledge.
- Anticipate and provide for guests’ needs throughout entire function; ensure guest satisfaction; respond quickly and efficiently to guest complaints.
- Accurately account for and collect payment for all drink and food orders through POS system in a timely manner.
- Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts and brewing coffee. Performimg Tableside cooking, salad or Entrée presentations, Open and pour wine tableside. Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
- Serve food and beverages to guests, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
- Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems, immediately notifying the manager on duty.
- Responsible for all tables in assigned section, in their entirety.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens. Fill salt, pepper, sugar, etc.
- Assist with overall dining service and ensure dining and serving areas are set up and maintained according to standard, including removal of all dirty dishes in FOH operations.
- Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, hours of operations, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
- Participate in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations.
- Abide by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor Regulations. Also pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations and EcoSure standards regarding food handling, storage, and cleanliness of work environment.
- Consistent attendance at company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
- Complete opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by the supervisors.
- Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.
- Possess the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and possess the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
- Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.
- Perform all duties as assigned by management.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English.

Director of Food & Beverage
Lefty’s Alley & Eats is unique destination in Delaware, bringing people together through interactive entertainment and unexpectedly high-quality food and beverages. We will be opening our new location at the Grove in Newark, DE in June 2026. We are currently in search of an Director of Food & Beverage to oversee all F&B operations within our 55,000 square foot venue. This position will begin approximately April 13, 2026
Summary: The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations across the restaurant, entertainment, and special event venues at Lefty’s Alley & Eats. This role directly supervises the Chef, Front of House Manager, and all food and beverage team members. The Director will lead the planning, execution, and management of dining services, nightlife, live entertainment, and ticketed events such as wine dinners, fundraisers, and private functions. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong management, operational, and marketing skills—dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences, maximizing profitability, and fostering a culture of hospitality and teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Training
- Collaborate with the Front of House Manager to implement comprehensive training and development programs for new and existing staff.
- Motivate and mentor team members to ensure consistent adherence to service and performance standards.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and maintenance standards.
- Maintain and enforce standard operating procedures for cost and revenue control.
- Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local laws related to labor, alcohol, and food safety.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitoring financial performance and controlling expenses.
- Oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory management to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and accountability.
- Approve invoices, verify payroll, and reconcile point-of-sale and revenue reports.
Menu & Event Development
- Partner with the Executive Chef to review and approve menus for the restaurant, catering, and special events.
- Coordinate and execute high-quality food and beverage experiences for live performances, VIP functions, and ticketed events.
- Work with the sales and marketing team to design and promote special events and dining experiences that drive guest engagement.
Guest Relations & Service Excellence
- Maintain a visible presence during service periods, ensuring guest satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly.
- Analyze guest feedback and business data to continuously improve operations and enhance the overall experience.
Facility & Staff Oversight
- Ensure the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of all food and beverage areas and equipment.
- Enforce company dress code and grooming standards for all staff.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on remodeling, refurbishment, and design improvements related to food and beverage operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a multi-faceted restaurant or entertainment venue.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent financial and analytical abilities with attention to operational details.
- Knowledge of marketing and event promotion, including social media engagement.

What will you do?
- Train and supervise catering associates and observe job performance.

We are inviting you to apply for our open General Manager position. In this role, you'll oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives on a day-to-day basis in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of the restaurant's dining room, public area, kitchen area and grounds. You might even by adding to the amenities of the Kalahari Resort by doing something as simple as selling a “Smores Kit” to guests!
With this position, we do require:
- Five years' experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager, preferably in a supper club, steak house or high-end setting.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing with guests, management, co-workers, and stakeholders.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Must be able to work flexible shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
