JOB DUTIES


As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, inspecting, testing, operating, repairing and maintaining all types of electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment in a safe and orderly manner as directed by a Maintenance Supervisor.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Five (5) years industrial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Formal Apprenticeship or equivalent trades training is desirable.
  • Vocational or high school graduate or equivalent.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


The tasks listed are the most physically demanding tasks required of the Maintenance Electrician position.


Standing - worker stands on concrete, rock, dirt or equipment (frequent basis)

  • Safe and efficient use of electrical maintenance tools and equipment including electrical testing and measuring equipment. Conduit bending and threading equipment, ladders and scaffolding, vibration analyzers, soldering equipment, metal cutting and forming machines, hoisting and rigging equipment. Hand and power tools common to the trade.
  • Read and work from blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, wiring and schematic diagrams, and other information and instructions. Maintains records and makes reports as necessary.
  • Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, assemble, inspect, test, maintain, lubricate and operate all electrical and electronic equipment and components, air conditioning equipment, fluid controls, cranes, lighting systems and battery powered equipment.
  • Use burning, cutting, welding, soldering, and brazing equipment as required.
  • Operate cranes, mobile equipment, and erects and disassembles scaffolding in conjunction with repair work.
  • Paint in conjunction with repair work.

  • Exercise extreme caution while working alone on many tasks
  • Assist other maintenance shift workers throughout the plant in repair efforts to minimize call-ins of day shift personnel
  • Assist assigned crew with execution of planned activities such as PM's, lubes, or standing work orders as assigned by the maintenance supervisor
  • Understand and activate the "Maintenance Help Chain" as necessary to prevent excessive production interruptions
  • Prioritize work requests or have the Potline Supervisor prioritize requests in the event of multiple requests simultaneously
  • Assess non-routine breakdown situations and recommend necessary resources when help is required
  • Provide accurate feedback to the appropriate maintenance personnel regarding turnover information on breakdowns and trouble calls
  • Practice established maintenance process techniques at all times, some examples include accurate and detailed information on work orders, applying parts removal tags on rebuild items, immediately return to stock warehouse issues that are not needed, proper coding of emergency work orders, all stock issues are charged to work orders

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

 

This position is responsible and accountable for directing and overseeing a team of technicians responsible for the installation of hardware components of audio-visual systems ensuring all financial, programmatic and operating systems meet established targets.  This position reports to a Project Manager and is a member of the Operations team supporting the mission and goals of a "Best in Class" sales and AV integration program.  As an experienced member of a dynamic installation operation, the Lead AV Technician will work independently to coordinate, receive, inventory, assemble and install AV equipment on job site locations to comply with the company’s policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.

 

 Residency within 60 miles of Buffalo, NY is required.  As a national company, opportunities to work at job sites across the country are also available.

 

Essential job functions, duties and responsibilities:

This position is responsible for independently coordinating and overseeing teams responsible for the process of receiving, inventorying, assembling and installing AV equipment on job site locations. This position requires a variety of duties including construction labor as well as installation, troubleshooting and repair but not limited to:

  • Directing the actions of others and be able to complete installations independently
  • Coordinating, scheduling, and directing one or more installation teams and to ensure appropriate travel arrangements and accommodations when required
  • Being responsible for the training and oversight of level one and level two technicians working at job sites and assisting them in attaining higher level certifications
  • Moving and/or repositioning large equipment or wiring supplies. Individuals must be able to lift and carry heavy objects of 75 lbs. unassisted and to steady objects above shoulder height while fastened into place by co-workers
  • Trouble-shooting audio and video equipment installations
  • Installing and terminating cables with the appropriate solder or compression connector
  • Drilling in drywall, concrete, and cinderblock for the purpose of installing projectors, projection screens, cameras, and speaker systems
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Working on ladders and lifts at heights in excess of 10ft

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Prior AV team leadership and management experience (2-4 years)
  • CTS certification is required
  • CTS-I certification or the ability to achieve certification within 12 months of start date

What You Will Do (Essential Functions):





  • Training to accurately perform changeovers and setups on all machines within all the HellermannTyton facilities within specifications of work orders, HellermannTyton and OSHA regulated safety procedures, and HellermannTyton quality guidelines.

  • Adjusting Robot and automation pick points, timers, and settings

  • Loading Star Robot programs after a mold change, or creating a new program if one does not exist.

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to equipment when necessary or assigned to. Follow provided work instructions to ensure proper lubricants and inspections are done to satisfactory standards.

  • Replacing and aligning vertical balance cylinders on Star Automation Robots

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, or repair electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical components on automated and semi-automated equipment.

  • Use a company service laptop to adjust servo and actuator parameters, adjust inspection camera parameters, and calibrate metering equipment.

  • Make adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on machines in a manner that complies with company safety and workmanship expectations.

  • Minimize faults, alarms, and product scrap by proposing solutions or improvements to the equipment or manufacturing process through constructive thinking and collaborating with affected departments.
