Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know, and will be held accountable for, following infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident. Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and also provides range of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.

The NA aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed. Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Qualifications

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.

Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.

When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor

vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of

this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.

**The Patient Estimate Analyst plays a critical role in supporting price transparency and improving patient financial experience by managing the systems and tools that generate accurate cost estimates for hospital and professional services
**DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
**UW Medicine Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC) is accountable for Revenue Cycle functions as it spans across UW Medicine.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Design, configure, test, and maintain patient estimate templates and workflows used to generate cost estimates for services across hospital and physician practices
* Analyze clinical documentation, charge capture practices, and historical claims data to validate pricing and reimbursement accuracy
* Perform routine audits and updates following pricing changes, chargemaster updates, or Epic upgrades
* Analyze variances between estimated and actual charges, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions
* Validate CPT and HCPCS assignments against clinical documentation, ensuring that templates represent the correct services
* Support training and documentation efforts related to estimation tools and workflow
* Maintain compliance Federal and Washington State pricing transparency requirements
* Assist in maintaining alignment between the patient estimator and the organizations online price transparency tools
* Partner with Patient Access, Financial Counseling, and Clinical Departments to ensure estimates meet operational needs and patient expectations
* Participate in Epic enhancement projects, upgrades, and revenue cycle optimization initiatives
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or related.

Minimum years of experience required is 4-8 years.

Equivalent experience may substitute for degree
* Coding credentials CCS, CPC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA – if not credentialed, must be credentialed within one (1) year of start date
* Four years of experience in revenue cycle operations, charge description master (CDM) maintenance, pricing or Epic Configuration Proficiency in Epic Resolute (HB/PB) and/or Epic Price Estimator tools preferred
* Epic Systems Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Epic Resolute (Hospital Billing/Professional Billing) and/or Epic Price Estimator tools preferred
* Analytical Expertise: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for data validation
* Revenue Cycle Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle operations within healthcare settings, including both hospital and physician billing environments and accuracy
* Regulatory Insight: Solid understanding of CMS regulations, the No Surprises Act, and pricing transparency requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply complex healthcare guidelines and compliance standards
* Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing tasks independently while maintaining precision and consistency

Schedule: M-F 0600-1500
Duration: ASAP (as soon as compliance is cleared) for 26 wks

Scope of Duties: Animal care and room sanitation, animal health, record keeping, maintenance, animal husbandry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1 year of animal handling or lab animal sanitation equipment operations experience required.

Ability to communicate animal health information to appropriate personnel, maintain legible records for permanent status. All assignments require some use of computer/email.
General knowledge of feeding, caging, and space requirements for multiple species of laboratory animals used in biomedical research.
Ability and skills needed to identify animal health concerns and regulatory compliance for their assigned areas and to report conditions to veterinary staff, researchers, and compliance staff.
Full knowledge of disinfection, sanitation, and cleaning agents; knowledge and ability to use cage washers for cleaning and autoclaves for sterilization of cages.
General knowledge of federal and other licensing agencies’ regulations.
Satisfactory job performance ratings at all times during probationary employment period.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently or in shared assignments with others.
Basic computer skills (e.g.,e/mail skills, ability to scan cage barcodes, sync PDA’s for submitting Health Surveillance Reports electronically, utilize email account for work-related communications, online training, HBS timesheet submission).
Ability to follow work rules, including no eating or drinking in animal areas, no smoking at campus facilities.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, stand, reach above shoulder level, and move on hard surface for up to 7 hours/day.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required; includes protective clothing, protective glasses, safety shoes and gloves daily , face masks as required, respirator if assigned.
Ability to push and pull heavy objects and ability to safely move and or lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds).

Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from high school/GED, completion of training equivalent to the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician certification of the AALAS, and one year of animal care experience; or high school graduation and two years of animal care experience in the care of an animal species appropriate to the particular job; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
