At the front door of University Health, this role serves to screen patients needing placement in acute or observation beds for the purposes of correct status determinations, and the coordination of appropriate diversions to home or other level of care more appropriate for the services needed to be rendered. This position requires assertive clinical acumen and communication skills for serving in the liaison roles with medical staff, nursing, and patients and families.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Texas, BSN preferred. National certification (e.g. CCRN, RNC, CEN, CNOR, OCN, ANCC, CAN, CPAN, CFRN, etc.) in related field is preferred. Three years recent, full-time hospital experience preferred. Work experience in case management, utilization review or hospital quality assurance experience is preferred. Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. National certification in related field is preferred. Case Manager Certification (CCM or ANCC) is highly desirable.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and administer medication in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations.
- Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of common medications.
- Account for controlled drugs each shift and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Charting routine medications, medication omissions, documentation of PRN medication given with follow up, and any other pertinent observations.

Practices Medication Therapy Services through appropriate patient assessment and pharmacy therapy recommendations including appropriate dose, schedule, route, contradictions, and potential drug interactions. Collaborates with prescribers for clarification and/or recommends on appropriate drug therapy.

p. Complies with standards of regulatory, licensing and accreditation agencies as appropriate.
q. Participates in data collection for drug utilization evaluation and adverse drug reaction reporting as appropriate.

Job Summary
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability. Position Summary
As an Infusion Nurse, you will provide patient care activities within the scope of nursing practice that include, but not limited to patient assessment, symptom management, medication administration and management, monitoring of infused medications, performing IV placements, accessing ports, and collaboration with healthcare providers and clinical team across all departments. Your leadership skills in decision making and problem solving are essential. Clinical
