Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented PRN Cardiology Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to support our busy medical office team. In this role, you'll provide clinical triage and guidance for cardiology patients, partnering closely with providers to ensure safe, timely, and patient-centered care.

Our team provides coverage 7 days a week (Monday-Friday 8:00a-8:00p; Saturday/Sunday 7:00a-12:00p), offering flexibility ideal for nurses seeking PRN work. Training will take place in Fort Collins and Loveland, and once fully oriented, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid mix of in-office and remote shifts.

Experience in Cardiac, ICU, PCU, Ambulatory, or Emergency care is helpful but not required - we welcome motivated RNs who are eager to learn. Candidates who wish to maintain another PRN position within the system are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone and electronic triage for cardiology patients using established protocols
  • Assess symptoms, prioritize patient needs, and determine appropriate next steps
  • Offer clear education, reassurance, and guidance to patients and families
  • Communicate effectively with cardiology providers and interdisciplinary team members
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient communications
  • Support continuity of care by coordinating follow-up, testing, and referrals as needed
  • Maintain a calm, professional presence while managing varying patient acuity levels

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.


  • Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.

    Minimum Experience: 6 months of nursing experience.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Summary:

Provides direct care for patients with implantable cardiac electronic devices (CIEDs). Aligns care with applicable scope and standards of practice with the policies, values and mission of the organization. Provides device-clinic services across 14 locations, including monthly outreach travel to rural and multi-state sites (CO, WY, NE), with select locations requiring overnight stays.

Responsibilities:

Performs device interrogation, remote monitoring, in-office testing, reprogramming within protocol, technical troubleshooting, patient triage, and comprehensive documentation to support optimal electrophysiology care across assigned regional clinic locations and outreach sites. Documents findings.

Interprets presenting rhythm EGMs, pacing percentages, battery status, heart-rate histograms, arrhythmia/event counters, PVC trends, and stored EGMs. Evaluates automated lead testing results and trends abnormalities across all vendors. Troubleshoots device data. Determines and initiates required actions. Assesses loop-recorder data tailored to implant indication. Assesses rhythm EGMs, pacing data, battery and longevity status, histograms, event counters, and stored EGMs.

Performs manual lead testing based on underlying rhythm; recognizes and responds to loss of capture, symptomatic episodes, or induced arrhythmias. Reviews lead trends and adjusts device settings within protocols. Retrieves data, performs testing, and implements protocol-based reprogramming.

Conducts specialized visits: wound checks, groin checks for leadless pacemakers, reprogramming visits, and troubleshoots remote alerts or symptoms.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

Summary:

In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the CHRISTUS Health SkillBridge Internship Program provides military service members who are within 180 days of separation from military service, with opportunities in a variety of different roles. The goal is to provide service members with opportunities to learn and train at CHRISTUS Health's facilities as they prepare the transition from the military to the civilian sector.

This is an unpaid internship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. Participants of the program will not receive compensation or benefits from CHRISTUS Health and will not be considered employees of CHRISTUS but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.
