SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor directs all the warehousing activities for the organization and the inventory of goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

- Ensures external and internal customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
- Implements and maintains material handling preventative maintenance programs, ensuring effective equipment utilization and safety measures are in place.
- Leads implementation of process and technology improvements (cycle counting, order picking, shipping and receiving), including cost, quality and safety recommendations for changes and/or improvements.
- Ensures self and staff development, and training in functional and safety areas as well as promoting and evaluating the success of cross-training in a cross-functional department.
- Develops procedures to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment.
- Develops and manages housekeeping programs in the warehouse.
- Promptly addresses safety issues and ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assures that customer orders are picked and shipped timely, accurately, and within prescribed customer requirements.
- Controls and directs all transportation into and out of the warehouse to meet company time constraints while meeting GMP and safety requirements.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws in maintaining the sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of the warehouse, storeroom, freezers, coolers, company vehicles, and equipment.
- Ensures proper completion of pre-op inspection reports and checklists. Ensures proper temperatures all freezers and coolers. Regularly inspects, cares for and maintains company vehicles and motorized material handling equipment.
- Operates lift trucks, forklifts, scissor lift, and motorized pallet jacks while observing standard lift truck operation and enforcing safety rules.
- Participates in hiring and performance evaluation of associates.
- Oversees and participates, as necessary, in all incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure location, accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipment, and in observance of company policies, procedures, and safety precautions.
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, delivery receipts, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Ensures proper coordination and documentation of parcels for mailing including the completion of daily shipping logs.
- Controls inventory accuracy of ingredients, products, materials and supplies by participating in monthly physical inventories/cycle count program and maintaining/documenting inventory records.
- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and helps adjust errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Ensures proper usage of raw materials by rotating inventory according to FIFO methodology.
- Communicates regularly with management, other supervisory personnel, and warehouse staff to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Motivates team to maintain a high level of accuracy on transactions, a high level of productivity and keep their area clean and organized.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has the responsibility of supervising the material handlers and shipping and receiving clerks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelorβs degree in operations management or 3-5 years of comparable supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Summary
Director FSQA is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing strategy at the facility level that ensures regulatory, GFSI, internal and customer specification compliance, while supporting the growth of the business. This role focuses on 2 of the 4 Bakkavor USA facilities located in Charlotte, NC, Carson, CA, and San Antonio, TX. Deputy to VP FSQA.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Takes people with them, supports plant teams by delivering effective and practical system-based tools and solutions to overall compliance.
- Develop, implement, and deliver food safety and quality strategies to meet organization needs, business challenges and key metrics.
- Continually drive improvements of facility and team compliance to regulatory, GFSI, internal and customer specification requirements
- Drives communication between facility FSQA teams, operations and FSQA leadership to ensure facilities are properly resourced, trained, and capable of meeting requirements.
- Hands on leader for in-plant Food Safety & Quality teams (dotted line) with a direct report of the Quality Systems Specialist or Internal Auditor.
Role Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree or related combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. HACCP/PCQI certification and GFSI training and experience required.
- Experience leading regulatory (USDA and FDA), GFSI and/or customer audits.
- Experience developing FSQA systems and processes that support a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where quality and delivery is paramount.
- Influencing and informing skills, business acumen
- Strong strategic thinking skills and proven ability to support the overarching goals and growth strategies of the business.
- Travel Is Required: (Domestic) Up to 75%.
