Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the onsite HR leader for a senior living community in Arden, NC. This role acts as the primary link between corporate HR and local leadership, ensuring HR strategies and daily practices align with operational goals and resident care priorities. The HRBP is a hands-on partner supporting employee relations, compliance, performance management, engagement, and workforce initiatives. Working closely with the Executive Director, this individual plays a key role in shaping culture, strengthening retention, and guiding leaders through people-related matters. This is a fully onsite, exempt position reporting to community leadership with partnership from corporate HR.

Responsibilities
Community-Based HR Leadership
- Serve as the primary HR resource onsite, promoting a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture.
- Partner with community leadership to align people strategies with operational and resident care objectives.
- Support organizational changes by communicating updates and coaching leaders through transitions.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to broader site initiatives, including occasional Manager-on-Duty coverage.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Advise managers and team members on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and best practices.
- Conduct investigations and support corrective action processes in collaboration with corporate HR.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state employment regulations and maintain readiness for audits or surveys.
- Manage sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Onboarding, Engagement & Retention
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth and engaging start.
- Partner with recruiting and hiring managers to facilitate an efficient, positive candidate experience.
- Support engagement initiatives and monitor retention trends, recommending improvements as needed.
Performance & Development
- Coach leaders on goal setting, feedback conversations, and performance management practices.
- Support succession planning, workforce planning, and development initiatives.
- Assist in analyzing employee feedback and identifying opportunities for organizational improvement.
HR Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems and documentation are current.
- Track and report on key metrics including turnover, staffing levels, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee workersβ compensation processes and safety initiatives in partnership with corporate HR.
Skills
- Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and workplace compliance standards.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a matrixed reporting structure.
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling confidential matters.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3β5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, or long-term care settings strongly preferred.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
