The Primetals Ghent, KY facility conducts maintenance and reconditioning of conventional and new state-of-the-art slab casting equipment for Nucor Gallatin.
The facility also offers engineering services, in-plant laser measurement services, plant millwright services, mechanical machining, fabrication, and welding services.
Our expertise and technological advancements for the maintenance, repair and manufacture of continuous casting equipment, mold, segment, roll and related components allow us to provide our customers with an exceptional value in workmanship and quality assurance.

Requirements –
- Current, valid driver license
- Mechanical electrical experience preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform all necessary tasks associated with electroplating operations including but not limited to the following: Adheres to all established procedures, approved processes, and quality standards.
Performs hand-finishing, surface preparation, and pre-treatment of parts in accordance with plating requirements.
Conducts scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plating baths, tanks, pumps, filters, and all related processing equipment, and maintains accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Completes required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitors critical chemical levels and ensures proper use, handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
Follows strict PPE requirements at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
May be required to work mandatory overtime based on production needs.
Exhibits the ability to work independently and demonstrates strong initiative in completing tasks and identifying improvements.

This full-time position will primarily support our fellowship-trained spine surgeon and requires a strong background in orthopaedics, including clinic-based care and inpatient consults.

Position Overview
The Physician Assistant (PA) will work under the supervision of our spine physician to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care in both the hospital and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include a blend of clinic and OR coverage with the goal of providing efficient and effective care across the continuum.
Key Responsibilities
A. Hospital Duties
- Perform consultations and initial assessments in the Emergency Department
- Admit patients: perform H&Ps, order and interpret labs/imaging, and write progress notes
- First-assist in the operating room
- Support surgical teams with room setup and turnover
- Complete post-operative orders and brief op notes
- Conduct daily inpatient rounds: assess progress, review labs, coordinate care with PT/OT, and complete daily notes/orders
- Apply and manage casts, splints, and braces
- Provide patient and family education
- Collaborate with discharge planners for rehab/home care coordination
- Complete discharge summaries and transfer documentation
B. Outpatient Clinic Duties
- Evaluate and manage new and existing patients with orthopedic/spine conditions
- Formulate and execute treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Conduct pre-op assessments and education; complete H&Ps and documentation
- Manage post-op visits including imaging review and wound checks
- Respond to patient inquiries and coordinate communication with other providers
- Authorize medication refills and therapy referrals
- Serve as a liaison between the physician and office staff
- Maintain CME credits, licensure, and certifications
C. Call Coverage
- Participate in rotating call schedule for:
- Inpatient rounding
- ER consultations
- OR assistance
- Return of urgent calls from patients or healthcare providers
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active or eligible for New Hampshire & Maine state licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic or surgical PA experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
