Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The Ultrasound Technologist must be able to handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience
- 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred
- Basic computer experience required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Requires one of the following within 1 year of hire:
- Sonography (S) by ARRT
- Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS
- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS
- Prefers one of the following, along with the required:
- Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT

Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The Ultrasound Technologist must be able to handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. - Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience
- 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred
- Basic computer experience required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
2. Must be registered by RDMS (Ab, OB or RVT) or pass the RDMS Registry within one year of meeting the eligibility requirements. Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager / supervisor. In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered / credentialed.
3. Proficient knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
4. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
5. Requires positive and effective communication skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
