Power - Concrete Superintendent (Industrial West Virgina Power Project)

The Craft Superintendent oversees profitable installation of project work by directing co-workers and interfacing and coordinating with other trades. Responsible for safety, planning, cost and productivity, while perpetuating an SQP culture.

ROLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews assigned area to establish the most cost-effective way to build while considering the impact of safety, quality and schedule
• Adheres to budget and is held accountable for units agreed to in said budget
• Adheres to project schedule and is held accountable for meeting that schedule
• Develops short-term look ahead schedules
• Responsible for manning the crew; interviews and assists in the selection process of new hires while following Recruitment and Hiring Guidelines
• Manages cost by adjusting:
• Crew size
• Make-up of crew
• Means and methods to address quality and efficiencies
• Meets with foremen daily to plan production, review schedules, materials, manpower needs, pre-and-post-pour checklists, and safety requirements
• Ensures compliance with Company policies, local labor laws and labor agreements, where applicable
• Assigns cost codes to time and quantities
• Provides target and feedback information to the crews
• Prepares and distributes short-term interval work schedules
• Inspects work in progress to ensure adherence with SQP processes
• Establishes and maintains appropriate security for equipment

Construction Manager (WV - Civil Power Project)

Plan, direct, coordinate, or budget, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 15 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated ability to perform on progressively more complex projects
• Power project experience

JOB DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
• Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.

The Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Department is seeking an Engineering Lab Lead. This individual will collaborate closely with other Lab Leads, Engineering staff, and Technicians to ensure the Engineering Labs adhere to established company policies and provide hardware development support to program teams.

This position works closely with all levels of leadership in multiple organizations as well as managing lab utilization across various projects. As a member of the team, this position will lead day-to-day operation requirements in Engineering Labs, with a particular focus on safety, compliance, security, improvement, and program support. The Lab Lead owns the quality and performance of the EAP Department’s Engineering Labs.

What You Will Do

• Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.
• Management, coordination, and implementation of:
• Environmental Health and Safety standards
• Lab Operating Procedures
• Property tracking and calibration
• Personnel lab access lists and training matrices
• Take a proactive role in developing, understanding, and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics.
• Oversee audit assessment preparation; Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Factory & Lab Assessment reviews; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives.
• Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineer and Mathematics and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing safety, compliance, and processes in an Engineering, or similar, environment.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or STEM field.
• Experience with chemical handling, metrology, and property control requirements and processes.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Natural Gas Power Plant. This includes water treatment systems, circulating water systems, condensate/feedwater systems, heat recovery steam generator systems, turbine systems, gas turbine systems, generator systems, control systems, electrical systems, and various other plant systems. Is required to show initiative in his/her area of responsibility.

The salary range for this position is $48.00 to $57.47 per hour plus amazing benefits and other incentives. Additional compensation for overtime work.

Key Accountabilities:

•Proficient in primary skill required of position.

•Proficient mechanical and electrical skills for maintaining equipment at the plant.

•Performs troubleshooting and documentation and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift.

•Performs daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.

•Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.

•Conducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance.

The Construction Supervisor must have experience writing contract scopes of work and collaborating with contract administrators. Technical knowledge of mechanical combustion turbine generators, auxiliary support equipment, and balance-of-plant (BOP) assets is required.

• This role requires planning and organizing Mechanical Combustion Turbine Generator projects to achieve project objectives.
• Strong leadership, team-building, outage coordination, planning, scheduling, and supervisory experience are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in project management, technical training, and/or experience in GE frame 7FA gas turbines and generators, turbine operations, unit commissioning, outage planning for borescope inspections, hot gas path inspections, and major outage inspections for turbines and generators, outage execution of centerline of turbines and generators, including auxiliary turbine/generator support equipment.
• Supervision in leading centerline outages from project initiation to project completion.

Field Superintendent

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Construction Field Superintendent with Underground Power experience in the Los Angeles area. Ability to complete construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, field staff, and sub-contractors.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Directly oversees job site personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work schedules and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
• Works with Project Manager and Scheduler in the development and refinement of the project schedule to keep the schedules properly updated and see that the job meets the completion date while meeting budget
• Responsible for approving all expenses for each assigned job; ensure they are applied to the proper job and phase code
• Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times
• Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to work schedules
• Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, costs and adjusts work schedules as indicated on reports
• Completes Daily Field Production Reports on a daily basis
• Monitors contract compliance for each job to ensure the company is protected regarding liabilities matters and liens
• Required to participate in resolving labor disputes and related negotiations are required
• Responsible for obtaining signed change orders when appropriate and submitting to their Managers and Accounting for processing
• Provide directions to the A/R department to ensure invoices are properly and timely created
• Ensures company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy

Qualifications and Experience

• Four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration preferred
• 10 plus years of Construction knowledge and experience working in the capacity of a General Foreman or Superintendent in Underground Utility Installation
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics
• Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
• Manages difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments
