Role Overview:


Perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of plant and lab instrumentation and control equipment. Enter and maintain repair, maintenance, and calibration data into computerized maintenance management systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects.

  • Perform calibration scheduling and history tracking utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Maintain inventory levels for repair and critical spare parts.
  • Manage activities and schedules for outside contracted services.
  • Generate operating and maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for calibration and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Develop equipment specifications and assist in process system designs.
  • Conduct formal investigations of equipment and system problems using root cause process.
  • Document all calibrations on Regulatory Asset Management System.
  • Additional assignments/ duties to support team objective and contribute to the Veranova mission may evolve based on business needs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5-8 years related instrumentation experience within a pharmaceutical or chemical environment.
  • AA in engineering or other related technical field with 2-5 years related instrumentation experience within a pharmaceutical or chemical environment.
  • Demonstrate attention-to-detail, problem solving, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to physically enter equipment and confined areas for maintenance purposes
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs and work from building roofs and heights
  • Able to wear various types of respirators, protective clothing, and hearing protection
  • Able to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints
  • Able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills.
  • Experience working in an environment that utilizes safety improvement processes, lock-out/tag-out, hot work, and other OSHA based programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other job-related software.

  • Experience in a GMP environment

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Surgical Technologist, in collaboration with the surgical team and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the perioperative patient, instrumentation, supplies, and equipment during surgical and other invasive and non-invasive procedures. The Surgical Technologist ensures effective communication with the circulator, the surgeon, the patient and their family, as well as the other members of the surgical team.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will set up and manage instruments, equipment, and supplies for all surgical procedures
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a sterile field while passing instrumentation during an invasive procedure
  • You will perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technologist or Certificate of Completion of the Operating Room Specialist Course from the Military is required
  • A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required in the South Carolina hospitals and is strongly preferred in the Georgia and Florida hospitals

  • You will assists the Registered Nurse with circulating duties. Shows knowledge of circulating components/responsibilities as evidenced by completion of skills checklist. Able to assist primary circulator in his/her role.
  • You will be able to place cautery dispersive electrode on appropriate body parts knowing to check bony prominences; and for metal implants/assess need for shaving at bovie sight. 
  • You must be able to apply principles of standard and transmission based precautions. Helps maintain a safe environment for personnel and patients. 
  • You will assist primary circulator to ensure smooth flow in the O.R. Obtains needed medications from drug cart and pharmacy for circulator. Able to assist the primary circulator with little or no prompting and attends to needs of other staff members, anesthesia, surgeon and patient.
  • You will assume responsibility to check the following cases of the day for accuracy and location of needed instrumentation.

Job Summary and Qualifications 



The First Assistant is responsible for providing patient care of the surgical patient under the direction of the Surgeon. 


 


What you will do in this role: 


  • You will assist in preparing the operating room and perform assigned support duties during surgical procedures. You will assist in the turnover of the OR room 


  • You will check all instruments for workability prior to usage, displaying knowledge of instrument and content of set. 


  • You will provide retraction of tissue and organs for optimal visualization with regard to tissue type and appropriate retraction instrument and/or technique. 


  • You will assist in maintaining hemostasis by direct pressure, use and application of appropriate surgical instrument for the task, placement of ties, placement of suture ligatures, application of chemical hemostatic agents, or other measures as directed by the surgeon. 


  • You will assist with resuscitation of patient during cardiac arrest or other life threatening events in the operating room 


  • You will perform any other duties or procedures incident to the surgical procedure deemed necessary and as directed by the surgeon 


 


What qualifications you will need:  


  • Current TN licensure or National Certification as a: Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Certified ORT or RN Licensure or Doctorate of Medicine (corresponding with education obtained). 


  • High school or GED required; Graduate of Accredited Programs in: Physician Assistant, Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT), RN, MD.  


  • Current BLS required. 


  • One-year surgical assistant experience preferred.  


  • Must be competent in first assisting responsibilities in an OR setting.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Technologist you are responsible for assisting with the delivery of quality surgical care. You will be responsible for coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse during surgical procedures. You are responsible for all major surgical specialty areas; including gathering and preparing sterile supplies, equipment, preparing/maintaining the sterile field. You will assist the surgeon by supplying sterile instruments/supplies to the sterile field in a safe and efficient manner. You will follow current AORN and regulatory standards and established policies and procedures of the System.

What you will do In This Role: 

  • You will plan for and obtain the equipment and supplies needed for assigned procedures according to physicians' preference and specific patient needs. 
  • You will prepare equipment and supplies according to manufacturer's recommendations and specifications for uses during surgical procedures.
  • You will open sterile packs, instruments and supplies for each procedure according to established aseptic techniques and protocols. 
  • You will monitor sterile field during procedure and takes appropriate measures to insure integrity.
  • You must initiate corrective action for any break in technique. 
  • You will prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse, according to physician’s orders.
  • You will maintain accountability for instruments, sponges and sharps, according to hospital policy throughout the surgical procedure to ensure that no foreign objects are retained in the surgical wound. 
  • You will take appropriate action if item count is not correct and will inform the appropriate staff.
  • You will consistently follow safety procedures and protocols for Timeout when handling sharp instruments, powered equipment, hazardous chemicals and lasers.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

You must have a High school graduate or equivalent

You must have a graduated of a surgical technologist program OR hires prior to 9/1/2009 may substitute with 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist

If you are NON-CERTIFIED: No license, certificate or registration required for the Sterile Processing Department

  • All other departments no license, certificate or registration required if they meet the below provision: Per Texas HB 643, surgical technologists entering practice after 09/01/2009 must have and maintain a surgical technologist certification. Individuals that performed in a surgical technologist position prior to 09/01/2009 are not required to obtain a surgical technologist certification. 

If you are CERTIFIED: You must have and maintain ONE of the following:

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Surgical Technologist, in collaboration with the surgical team and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the perioperative patient, instrumentation, supplies, and equipment during surgical and other invasive and non-invasive procedures. · A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required in the South Carolina hospitals and is strongly preferred in the Georgia and Florida hospitals
