This job is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including but not limited to bobcats, cherry pickers, tractors, front end loaders, man lifts, backhoes, and forklifts; depending on area supported may also operate and/or maintain dock cranes and floating cranes.
In this job, you will:
- Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings.
- Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed.
- Receive work orders from supervisory personnel.
- Communicate flagging instructions to personnel, when/as required.
- Inspect heavy equipment and/or verify inspection prior to use; looking for defects and ensuring proper working order of equipment each shift and complete necessary checklists.
- Inspect and maintain rigging.
- Start-up equipment and perform duties as per assigned work orders.
- Track assigned work and report completion of duties to supervisory personnel.
- Coordinate equipment locations within working areas with appropriate personnel/flagmen.
- Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance and equipment repairs, when required.
- Perform rigging inspections.
- Perform cover handling; may perform barge cover handling/barge drafting.
- Operate other equipment as required.
- Properly shut down equipment and secure upon completion of assigned task.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education: Required - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Preferred 6 months' experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record; Experience in operation of additional various heavy equipment.

Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment in order to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to, flame cutter, punch press, drill press, forklift, crane, jib crane, machining center, pipe cutter, programmer, thread roller, pedestal grinder, disc grinder, stapler, boxer, CNC, band saw, saw, and other departmental equipment.

Operator may be required to make visual inspections, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
Operator must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, routing sheets and have the ability to satisfactorily use calipers, gages, measuring devises, etc. and perform SPC as required.
Operator will be required to furnish own hand tools.
Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Position Responsibilities:
Obtain work package from the ready-to-work rack, work board, or assigned by Team Lead, or run previously set-up jobs by reviewing tie-ins from prior operators.
Operate a computer to access information from prints, sketches, drawings, layout documents, and Boeing (BAC) specifications.
Perform safety checks on machines, ensuring the area is clear of obstacles, power switches are off, and safety guards are installed.
Move heavy materials, equipment, tools, and dies to the work area using stackers, Kalamar, die loaders, or overhead cranes, asking for assistance as needed.
Check steam lines for cracks or cuts and verify o-rings are properly seated prior to hookup.
Preheat dies and punches using electricity or steam, and verify temperature accuracy for hot dies with a temperature stick or pyrometer.
Determine machine setup by reviewing work orders, tooling usage instructions, and die setup charts, making adjustments as required.
Load and secure dies into the press, checking for defects and torquing as necessary.
Examine tools, dies, and fixtures for damage, separating them using appropriate handling procedures.
Set up press cycle programs using control panels or manual switches to adjust height, stroke, pressure, and cycle time.
Develop patterns when necessary, cutting and tailoring materials like fiberglass and graphite to die requirements.
Perform pull-outs on various types of metal and alloy tubes using a hydraulic tube pull-out machine.
Verify that materials are free from burrs and debris, using hand deburring tools and denatured alcohol prior to forming operations.
Consult with Team Lead and other personnel (e.g., engineering, planning, inspection) on process or job-related issues as required.
Maintain a written tie-in book or electronic communication to coordinate with other shifts and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.

- Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents, including cutter offsets, tool heights, and probes, using appropriate measuring tools.
- Run CNC programs to machine rough and precision cut parts, monitoring machine operations for unusual vibrations, sounds, or warning indicators.
- Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining issues or prepare the machine for subsequent operations, including head and spindle angles.

Description:
The saw operator is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and cutting of stainless steel and nickel alloys per customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Take primary responsibility for operation and maintenance of the bar saw machine to include Production, Quality, accuracy of Production Logs, and BT/Travelers/Programs.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as needed.
- Assist maintenance whenever requested or directed.
- Monitor your machines consumables. Cut and remove scrap. Report any deficiencies.
- Use plates, bars, rems, and programs as specified by Production Control. Prior approval for any changes.
- Work with QA department on all matters of quality to include quality of cut parts, cutting tolerances, quality statistics and ISO 9000 certification.
- Ensure that safe work practices are maintained always within your work section and always adhere to safety requirements and wear required protective equipment.
- Control the neat, orderly and accurate storage of all bar inventory in the plant.
- Organize the work area of your machines. All tools should be put away in an orderly manner.
- Maintain and constantly improve upon the cleanliness of your section.

Set up, adjust and operate a wide variety of numerically controlled machines and or cells, to perform rough and finish operations on a wide variety of casting, forgings and parts of copper, aluminum, steel graphite and other ferrous or non-ferrous metals and alloys. Work from programs, operational data and set up instructions. Manually perform deburring operations during cycle by hand sanding, belt sanding or operate single drill press and cleaning equipment to perform secondary operations. Use other hand tools, as necessary to maintain required quality. Will assist in training when needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Duties:
- Reading and interpreting production schedules, job router cards, blueprints, non-conformance reports, and any other materials that summarize requirements for the grinding of rubber rolls.
- Locating and retrieving rolls to the grinding production area utilizing overhead cranes and various materials handling equipment.
- Preparing the individual rolls for installation in the grinding equipment, utilizing knives to trim back rubber from the rollers prior to installing the rollers into the equipment, cleaning steel surfaces of rollers using hand or mechanical equipment, cleaning steel surfaces of rollers using hand or mechanical equipment, such as die-grinders or sheet abrasive/polishing materials.
- Setting the grinding equipment, installing special grinding wheels or attachments, adjusting and setting tooling on tool posts, installing live-centers, chucks centers, extensions, dogs, etc.
- Aligning the rollers in the equipment to meet all dimensional requirements of job order. This includes adjustment for taper, TIR, roller surface finish, and finish dimensions.
- Measure all required dimensions and understand the relationship of the dimensions to the specific requirements of the job.
- Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including durometer gauges, pi-tapes, P&J gauges, micrometers, vernier diameter tapes, dial indicators, profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
- Complete the grinding operation and inspect the finished product to ensure that all requirements are met.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, inspection reports, job router information, and operator sign-off on job.
- Clean all metal and rubber surfaces prior to protective wrapping.
- Unload the grinding equipment safely and without damage or harm to personnel, equipment or finished product.
- Deliver the finished product to a designated storage area or shipping container.
