Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of a State approved School of Nursing.
  • Licensure: Possess a current RN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri temporary work permit.
  • Experience: Must have hospital based experience. Preferred one year Emergency Department experience.
  • Certifications: ETC and Acute Care Center RN's must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. ETC RN's must have a current ACLS card or complete a course within 6 months of their hire date. ETC RN's must have current PALS or ENPC, and TNCC cards or complete courses within one year of hire date.ย

Job Summary and Qualifications

Chaplain Resident work the supervision of a CPE supervisor, associate supervisor or certified candidate, the chaplain resident participates in the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program in accordance with ACPE Standards and the policies and guidelines of the Department of Pastoral Care and Education. S/he is responsible for providing spiritual care, support and education for patients, their loved ones, and staff. S/he has the responsibility to ensure that religious and spiritual needs of the patients and their loved ones are met. This may be in the assigned units, while chaplain on duty, or whenever encountering persons throughout the medical center. S/he is capable of program planning and implementation. S/he identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for continuous improvement of processes and services on an ongoing basis. The chaplain resident reports to the CPE supervisor, associate supervisor or certified candidate and is under the care of the Director of the Department of Pastoral Care and Education.ย
