Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Longwood, FL for an Estimator specializing in Painting, Waterproofing, Resinous Flooring, and Fireproofing. In this role, the Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and requirements, preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, quantifying and identifying change orders and collaborating with project managers and clients. Responsibilities also include building relationships with vendors, and obtaining pricing form vendors.

Qualifications that would be of use

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Production Supervisor – Lower Building (LRTM) will stand up and stabilize a brand-new second shift by installing disciplined manufacturing leadership, delivering defined KPI performance, and building a cross-trained, accountable team capable of operating independently within 12 months.

This role operates within Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) manufacturing.

Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) is a closed-mold fiberglass composite process in which dry reinforcement (fiberglass mat or fabric) is placed into a mold, resin is injected under controlled pressure, and the part cures inside the mold to produce structurally consistent, cosmetically controlled composite products.

The process requires:

• Resin ratio and material usage discipline
• Cure-cycle awareness
• Mold handling precision
• Standard work adherence
• Strong math literacy and documentation rigor

This is cell-based composite manufacturing — not continuous flow automation.

This is not a turnaround of broken process.

The process exists. The shift does not.

This leader will be the highest-ranking authority on site during second shift and must operate with independent judgment, production rigor, and cultural steadiness.

1. Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft .
2. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Must display the ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure .
3. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets, cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents .
4. Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection .
5. Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) .
6. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information .
7. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity .
8. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S Program, and complies with all safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment as required.

1. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags .
2. Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft .
3. Exchange job related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turn over report meetings and direct contact with leadership .
4. Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs .
5. Support Lean Activities .

1. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.

• Develop process drawings, manufacturing instructions, control plan and work instructions for new products, machining, welding, assembly fixtures, and tooling
• Develop financial evaluations of potential major capital investment projects and provide documentation of investment vs payback to the superior.
• Coordinate manufacturing changes for the approved Engineering Change Request
• Evaluate existing methods of operations, routings, processes, tooling, etc., and recommend and/or initiate changes or modifications to update and achieve optimum operating efficiencies and manufacturing economies.
• Develop and manage plant layouts, CAD drawings, and operational design concepts
• Install and conduct equipment capability and certifications with the help of maintenance
• Coordinate and conduct new project PDT meetings with the customer and supplier.
• Application of lean concepts and capacity planning
• Application of error-proofing techniques
• Periodic review of process capability studies and initiate action to reduce FMEA / RPN
• Identify and address safety and ergonomic issues, as identified.
• Keep regular communications, periodic meetings with program management on new program awards, and the status of awarded programs
• Support Sales on RFQs, cost estimation, and technical presentation to seek new business
• Do participate in corrective preventive actions for customer and internal complaints
• Must be able to take the production engineer role in case new project activities are completed

QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Associate Diploma or Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering required
• Minimum of 4 years of actual on-the-job experience ( no internship or fresh graduates) in Engineering, product development, manufacturing in Automotive and/or Automotive Supply base
• Must have process experience in Machining, Welding (MIG, TIG), Robotic welding, Press Assembly, Fixture, Automation and cutting tools knowledge required
• Adequate knowledge of Problem-Solving methods, SPC and SQC tools required
• Auto CAD, Solid Works skill set
• Highly knowledgeable in APQP process, PPAP, PFMEA, PFD, Control Plan and WI
• Knowledge in GD&T and Lean manufacturing
• Knowledge in International Quality Management System - IATF 16949:2016/ISO 14001 /OHSAS and State Law in Industrial Regulations
• Proven ability in execution of project plans that have achieved the identified targets
• Understanding safety procedures and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to train, assist, lead, direct, instruct and discipline employees
• Strong sense of time management and urgency
• Ability to manage, navigate unexpected challenges with a focus to rapidly find solutions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting, squatting, walking, bending 8 –10 hours per day
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Must be able to work in different weather conditions
• Exposure to production environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This role functions in a welding, assembly and machine shop environment
• This role routinely uses standard and special purpose equipment such as CNC machines, robots, welding, assembly fixtures and tools
• Technicians often work in assembly lines or automated production floors

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when in a production area
