Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Supply Chain Intern to work on two strategic initiatives that will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer service levels. This internship offers hands-on experience with real-world supply chain challenges in a multi-plant manufacturing and distribution environment. You'll work closely with our supply chain leadership team and plant operations team to analyze current operations, research best practices, and develop actionable recommendations that will shape Grimco's future in manufacturing. The candidate will spend most of their time at the corporate office in Sunset Hills, Missouri and some time at our Owensville Manufacturing plant will be necessary.

Project - Finished Goods Inventory Optimization:

Analyze and develop an optimized inventory strategy for finished goods and raw materials across Grimco's multiple manufacturing locations and distribution hub network.

Key Objectives:

· Position finished goods inventory closer to customers for faster delivery

· Reduce overall inventory carrying costs

· Minimize freight expenses through strategic inventory placement

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Monitoring & reviewing of electronic surveillance (Access Control & CCTV) as well as security alarm systems (Intrusion/Fire).

  • Inspect company properties for Security & Asset Protection concerns and then assist with correcting and further securing.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Administration & Document Management

•    Set up each project in iSqFt — upload plans, specifications, and all associated bid documents for wastewater treatment plant and pump station projects; maintain the planholder list throughout the bid period

•    Upload all addenda to iSqFt immediately upon receipt and distribute to estimators, subcontractors, and all relevant stakeholders with clear documentation of what changed

•    Populate all required public bid forms — unit price schedules, subcontractor listings, contractor certifications, non-collusion affidavits, and any agency-specific documents

•    Order bid bonds through the company's surety agent; verify the bond form, penal sum, and all conditions match the project's exact requirements

•    Obtain pricing for permits, contractor's license fees, and applicable sales tax for use in the estimate

•    Review the complete bid package prior to submission for accuracy and compliance; confirm every required document is present, properly signed, and in the correct format

•    Coordinate bid submission — electronic portal, bid runner, or public bid opening — and coordinate scheduling of bid runners and attendees as needed

Subcontractor & Vendor Communication

•    Conduct proactive phone solicitation and follow-up to confirm subcontractor and supplier coverage as directed for each active bid 6

•    Schedule bid runners for bid delivery and public bid opening attendance

Estimating Support

The Role:

SMK is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to coordinate and supervise a diverse portfolio of contracts, primarily in the infrastructure field (highway/bridge or transit). The ideal candidate should have experience in Civil and Structural construction projects as well as having experience in general construction methodologies, disciplines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Conducting site visits to enforce project requirements while recording project progress and assisting in the resolution of field issues.
  • Preparing and reviewing submittals, RFIs and other official project correspondence.
  • Attending and leading project issues, progress and change order negotiation meetings.
  • Performing reviews of design documents for: (1) Compliance with project requirements; (2) Interdisciplinary coordination; (3) Analysis of conceptual feasibility and review for fatal flaws.
  • Reviewing design plans and specifications to: (1) Propose means and methods build strategies with phasing and sequencing in report format; (2) Evaluate constructability, risk, delay, and cost overrun mitigation.
  • Ability to develop and manage the development of: (1) Construction cost estimates; (2) Claim reviews and performing change order analysis; (3) Schedules using Primavera P6 and phasing methodology for construction activities; (4) Reviews on contractor schedule updates, time impact analyses and recovery efforts while proposing solutions to scheduling issues.
  • Performing and presenting Risk Assessments and Value Engineering studies.
  • Monitoring and tracking SMK project budgets.
  • Assisting in the development and preparation of scope and fee proposals to clients.
  • Supervising and mentoring entry level project management staff.

  • 5+ years experience with concrete placement, earth support systems, deep foundation construction, marine construction, structural steel erection, structural demolition, highway construction, drainage system construction, Interstate Highway traffic controls, environmental protection systems and field survey/layout.
  • Required proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with HCSS, Bid2Win, and/or Estimating Link
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
