Chamberlain College of Nursing needs qualified Mental Health Clinical Faculty (part-time) in our Bachelors of Science in Nursing program in Hawaii including Maui, Oahu, Lanai and Kauai.

Teaching is onsite (in clinical setting) with one of our clinical partners. Schedule: most commonly 12-hour rotations (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days.

Mental-Health Nursing course overview:

Emphasis is on the dynamics of an individual's ability to function in society. The course focuses on content relative to anxiety, self-concept, thought disorders, mood alterations, addictive behaviors, organic brain dysfunction, abuse and violence issues. It also incorporates health promotion and wellness issues such as stress management and personal growth. Therapeutic communication techniques, individual and group therapy practices and community mental-health resources are also incorporated.

The Department of Public Safety protects and serves the Creighton community through proactive patrolling, rapid response, community outreach, security technology, and safe parking and transportation options. Public Safety has primary responsibility for security enforcement, emergency management, campus safety, and parking enforcement on Creighton University's Omaha Campus.

The Public Safety Dispatcher manages a communications center to enable the protection of Creighton University's Omaha Campus, including people, facilities, and property. A successful dispatcher candidate will demonstrate absolute integrity, a willingness to relate to all members of the Creighton community, a desire to help others, and the ability to exercise good judgment under pressure. Public Safety dispatchers receive calls for assistance and information and dispatch Public Safety officers to emergency and non-emergency calls for services, including safety and security incidents, medical aid, and fire alarms. Dispatchers monitor and operate multiple video surveillance, access control, and alarm systems. Dispatchers also track calls and activities and maintain a log of incidents occurring during their assigned shifts. Dispatcher must have excellent communication skills, remain calm under stressful emergency situations, and be able to think clearly and act quickly. Due to the nature of the role, the ability to multitask is crucial. The dispatcher position is a lifeline position to callers and officers. The ability to creatively solve problems and find resolutions to questions, problems, and concerns is imperative. The ability to quickly develop a strong working knowledge of Creighton's community, campus geography, policies, procedures, and stakeholders will be essential.

Prelicensure Clinical Instructors (Hourly) are subject matter experts who teach and mentor students when engaged in experiential clinical course work; in a remote/onsite environment. This faculty position varies in the type, length, and intensity of instructional methods and is based upon student and facility needs. The Clinical Instructor works on a team to support an assigned group of students and offers specialized instruction on challenging experiential/clinical course work. Faculty interacts with students in both group and one-on-one settings. The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach. It is the only cancer center in Missouri and within a 240-mile radius of St. Louis to hold the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Division 11800 is a 32-bed single occupancy unit that provides care to oncology patients who are hospitalized for cancer treatment and symptom management, including support for immunosuppression and/or neutropenia. The care is moderate to high acuity. Care includes high complexity interventions serving patients on both the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Oncology services. The presence of two services provides broad oncology experiences for the nurse. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, coordinators, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy and psycho-social support. Role Purpose
