Responsibilities:
Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

How you'll make an impact in this roleWe are seeking a full time endocrinologist to join our elite team, located at 12708 East 116th Street in Fishers, Indiana. This is an established practice with a great patient base, so starting a new panel will not be a challenge. Currently, call is 1:4 and will be 1:5 with a new hire. Depending on the dates requested by everyone and personal preference, the call is taken 1–2 weeks at a time. So whoever is on call will take calls for all the other doctors and NP's that come in after hours. 4:30pm to 8AM the next day, any after hours calls are forwarded to whomever is on call for our practices. Calls tend to come from patients, but on occasion might come from another physician like in the ED if there is a question regarding a clinic patient, sometimes the pharmacy can call.
