The Avionics Hardware team is a small group of highly motivated engineers who develop the core compute, actuation, sensing, and power electronics products at the heart of our automation system. As a Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will lead development of electrical components and sub-systems across our airborne and test platforms from the circuit-board level up through integrated systems and everything in between.

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers as the expert on your hardware. You will drive improvements to the hardware through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing, and perform root-cause investigations to characterize, document, and rectify anomalous behavior in a safety-critical environment. You will contribute to continuous improvement of the team's development processes and practices through technical leadership.

Basic Success Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of full-lifecycle hardware development experience in a professional environment

  • Experience developing and simulating complex and manufacturable printed circuit board assemblies using tools such as Altium Designer and SPICE

  • Ability to work within a team, including excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve electronic hardware problems

Preferred Criteria

  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

  • Experience with aviation development assurance standards (e.g. RTCA/DO-254 for Level A/B items or equivalent)

  • Experience designing electronics to meet rigorous environmental standards (aerospace, military, automotive, or harsh industrial)

  • Deep expertise in high-speed digital design, mixed-signal design, RF design, and/or power electronics design

The Surface Based Effector Production Department is searching for a Sr. Principal Guidance Section Systems Integrator role on a complex missile program that is critical for our national defense and has near unlimited growth potential. The Systems Integrator role will work closely with all disciplines associated with missile production including Program Management, Chief Engineers, Quality, Supply Chain and Production Operations to ensure the technical integrity of our products is maintained and performs as intended every time. Position Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE



This responsibility involves assessing and creating Matheson’s electronics marketing plan and strategy, and then planning, coordinating and directing marketing and new business development efforts. Role Overview

We are seeking two highly skilled Mechanical Engineers with experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector to support the development and integration of advanced thermal management subsystems used across military and commercial platforms globally.

This role focuses on mechanical subsystem development from a packaging and integration perspective, including enclosure design and integration of electronic and fluid control components such as pumps, compressors, fans, and valves. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing aerospace-grade subsystems within defined volume and interface constraints, ensuring high reliability, environmental robustness, and compliance with industry standards.

These roles will support programs progressing from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) toward Critical Design Review (CDR) and will involve reuse and adaptation of existing product architectures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical enclosures for aerospace electronic and control subsystems such as thermal management systems and related subsystems
  • Package and integrate COTS and custom components into customer-defined volume constraints by integrating components including pumps, compressors, fans, valves, and control electronics
  • Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T, stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
