Summary

The Education Department at Saint Xavier University seeks university coordinators and supervisors to provide school-side support in assessing student teachers, practicum students, and residency students currently enrolled in various undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs. University Supervisors and Coordinators serve as resources for student teachers and act as liaisons between the University and the field. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

UNIVERSITY SUPERVISOR [Student Teaching and Practicum]

  • Observe and gather assessment data on lessons conducted by student teachers [minimum of 5 visits during the 16-week student teaching experience OR 3 visits during the 16-week practicum experience for undergraduate elementary education students]
  • Provide descriptive feedback on a student teacher's execution of professional responsibilities (lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, classroom interaction, maintenance of records)
  • Help the student teacher relate teaching theory to classroom practice (e.g., discuss reasons for selecting materials and methods)
  • Help student teachers develop consistent classroom management practices conducive to learning, promoting respect for others and cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Supervisors are assigned supervision of a maximum of 10 student teaching and/or practicum students.

UNIVERSITY COORDINATOR [Alternative Licensure Residency]:

  • Conduct weekly observations of the candidate engaged in teaching and provide formal written and verbal feedback conferences (face-to-face or virtual, depending upon school schedules) focusing on areas of strengths and continuous improvement following the Danielson Observation model
  • Provide individualized professional development as needed
  • Review and provide feedback on candidates' lesson plans, reflections, and instructional schedule
  • Collaborate with the school principal in the evaluation of candidates, e.g., content-specific curriculum competencies (NAEYC), formative (at the end of Residency I), and summative evaluation (at the end of Residency II) of candidates.
  • Coordinators are assigned supervision of a maximum of 7 alternative licensure residency students.



Qualifications

Summary: A Physician Assistant functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.

NATURE OF THE POSITION

Reporting Relationships:

Human Resources Management

  • Oversees all human resources functions within the Division(s) and serves as the liaison and contact for all human resources matters. Collaborates with VCUHS Human Resources and the HR Business Advisory team to assist in the design, develop, and implement equitable and inclusive strategic and operational human resource management practices for the department.
  • Manages, supervises and directs assigned administrative/support staff to include determining staffing needs, recruitment, hiring, work assignments, performance evaluation, disciplinary/corrective action and employee training and development.
  • Participates in faculty recruitment for the Department which includes developing pro-formas to assess financial/program impact of new faculty and services; recruitment, advertising, hiring and relocation of new faculty, participating in onboarding new faculty; handling and verifying contracts and agreements; working in collaboration with VCU Human Resources in the administration of the annual faculty salary process, and working with the MCVP compensation plan team; and assisting faculty and other providers in the credentialing process and professional liability verification.
  • Assists with productivity analysis and accountability of Division faculty.
  • Communicates with providers and divisional staff to ensure all remain up to date on current health system policies.
  • Works with the Office of the General Counsel and the VCU Office of Immigration Services as needed on visa issues and all related matters for existing/prospective employees from other countries.

  • Administers VCU/VCUHS Human Resources policies and procedures.

Serve as liaison and technical resource to the Curriculum Committee; assist in the preparation of the agenda and materials; develop and recommend timelines; update curriculum and academic program websites; attend meetings and take minutes.  Submit curriculum changes to the District governing board for approval.
  5. Review and edit curriculum documents and course outlines as appropriate; review new and modified programs of study and make recommendations as necessary; assure compliance of District Board policies and Title V regulations; train and assist faculty and staff in completing on-line course outline forms.  Train and support faculty in use of curriculum management system.
  6. Assist administrators, faculty, and others with research of course and program data, State and local rules, and regulations and policies as directed.  
  7. Plan, organize and coordinate the preparation of the college catalog; establish and meet timelines; maintain currency of information in the catalog.   Serve as editor for the college catalog.
  8. Provide updates on Title V regulations to divisions, administrators, faculty, and staff; compare and contrast changes to Title V regulations and make appropriate adjustments to materials and other resources as required. Maintain files of District Course Outlines of Record: provide copies to students, faculty, and staff as requested. 
  9. Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff for programs including student learning outcomes and program review.
  10. Prepare various reports as required by state agencies, administrators, faculty, and others regarding courses and classes offered by the District.
  11. Assist Instructional Services Manager in the development and maintenance of class schedule; serve as primary backup for this responsibility.
  12. Serve on committees as assigned.  Attend regional meetings and other workshops related to curriculum and articulation.
  13. Perform related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Associate?s Degree from an accredited institution. 
  2. Knowledge of and proficiency in the utilization of standard office productivity software programs (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), personal computers, and the internet.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  4. Type at 50 wpm.
  5. Passage of the College's clerical skills tests.
  6. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution. 
  2. Two years working with information systems used to support curricular functions and instructional programs.
  3. Knowledge of California Education Code, Title V and Chancellor?s Office procedures.
  4. Knowledge of the Chancellor?s Office Curriculum Inventory system, the Program and Course Approval Handbook, Title V Regulations and related District policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY
Graduate Assistants under immediate supervision, will assist one or more regular faculty members or the teaching staff with various professional, technical and research based duties associated with the subjects or programs in one of the departments in the Jack H Brown College of Business and Public Administration.

Course Outcomes:

  • Distinguish the different banking business models and fintech. Students differentiate traditional banking methods from financial technology applications.
