The Medical Intensive Care Unit provides interdisciplinary care for patients with a variety of serious medical conditions in a technologically advanced environment. We have 6 Critical Care Intensivists: A resident team, each led by an attending who specializes in Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine. Daily multidisciplinary rounds at bedside to discuss patients' plans of care. 

The role of an ICU/CCU RN is to provide care to critical patients /complex surgical patients requiring but not limited to cardiac monitoring, invasive lines, ventilators, and critical care pharmacology medications. In this role, you will provide quality care to our patients on an inpatient 8 bed ICU that cares for cardiac, respiratory and surgical day patients. In this fast paced environment you will assess, plan, implement and document patient care, communicate with patients, families and other health team members effectively and implement core measures as indicated on the patients of this unit. Applicants should possess excellent communication, assessment, documentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize as well as a commitment to work with a culturally diverse population. 

Qualifications/Experience: 

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current MA RN License 

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred 

ICU/Critical Care RN experience required

Current AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required 

CCRN Preferred

Position Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational effectiveness of the health center. The CEO ensures high‐quality care, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and strong partnerships with patients, staff, community members, agencies, and the Board of Directors. This role requires a leader who understands the unique opportunities and challenges of rural health care and is committed to advancing health equity.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic leadership aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the health center.
* Ensure compliance with HRSA Health Center Program Requirements, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and all federal and state regulations.
* Oversee clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions to ensure high‐quality, patient‐centered care.
* Lead organizational planning, quality improvement, and performance management initiatives.
* Strengthen community partnerships and advocacy efforts.
* Support a culture of safety, accountability, and staff engagement.
* Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, providing timely and accurate reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in health administration, public health, business administration, or related field.
* The Board recognizes that effective FQHC leadership can be demonstrated through a combination of formal education, professional training, and substantial experience in healthcare or community health settings.
* Equivalent combinations of relevant executive‐level experience, progressive leadership responsibility, and specialized training may be considered in place of the stated degree requirements.
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, competencies, and leadership capacity necessary to fulfill all HRSA Health Center Program Requirements and to successfully oversee the clinical, operational, financial, and compliance functions of the organization.
* Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in rural health setting, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center with HRSA-funded programs or similar environment including familiarity with value-based care, population health, and rural health systems.
* Demonstrated experience in operations, finance, compliance, or clinical administration.
* Strong communication, relationship‐building, and organizational leadership skills.
* Experience working with a governing Board of Directors.

CHA opened a new inpatient center for youth with acute behavioral health needs. Located in Somerville, the beautiful facility provide children and adolescents a transformative continuum of patient and family-centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs.

The Adolescent Unit is a secured psychiatric unit that provides care for children between the ages of 12 and 18. The unit is located in Somerville Hospital. This is an acute care unit, working on assessment, stabilization and after care treatment planning. We have a multidisciplinary team focused on teaching self-regulation, de-escalation and restraint reduction. This approach is used to provide patient and family centered care.

Job Purpose:

  • Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Current Massachusetts RN license required
  • American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
  • BSN or ASN degree required 
  • 1-2 years acute inpatient psychiatric experience preferred. 
  • In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job specific physical test

Cahill 4 is an inpatient adult behavioral health unit of which we see various types of psychiatric illnesses such as bi-polar, personality disorders, dual diagnosis, adjustment disorder, and psychosis. According to DMH we have a lower than average restraint rate, and use a sensory approach to de-escalate patients as well as DBT/CBT group therapy. All staff are educated in trauma-informed care, which provides each patient a plan of care that is based on their individual needs. Patients are cared for by a dynamic interdisciplinary psychiatry team of nurses, milieu counselors, providers and social workers. 

Qualifications and Experience:

The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD), a recipient of the 2013 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize, works to protect and promote the health of everyone in the city, with a special focus on vulnerable populations. Administered by the Cambridge Health Alliance, the CPHD uses a Social Determinants of Health framework to address factors like economic stability, education, and racism that affect community well-being. Its key areas of focus include communicable disease prevention, environmental health, and emergency preparedness. The department is also responsible for creating and enforcing public health regulations within Cambridge.

Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for patients in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. He/she demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and is directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager.
