Summary:
Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
  • Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.

Key Responsibilities

β€’ Identify and develop new business opportunities with facilities generating radioactive waste across Texas and surrounding markets.

General Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of experienced staff, seasonal employees will work in teams to conduct transect surveys following agency-approved methods for the detection of state- and federal-listed species including, but not limited to, blunt-nosed leopard lizard (Gambelia sila). In-house and field training will be provided. Duties may also include general maintenance/preparation of field equipment and other administrative tasks as assigned.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work will be conducted in both field and typical office environments.
  • These positions are based in Bakersfield, CA, but field sites may be distributed throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
  • Field work may be pre-scheduled up to 1-week in advance, and crew departure times will be coordinated by crew leaders the day before field work is conducted.
  • Field work will be completed over an 8-hour workday. Overtime (more than 8 hours a day) may be required to accommodate longer travel times to specific field sites. MBI offers no minimum guarantee of work hours.
  • Transect surveys will consist of hiking up to several miles per day in intense sun.
  • Field attire appropriate for hiking is required (e.g., shirts with sleeves, long pants, hat, sunglasses, and hiking boots). Many field sites require additional personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hats, and H2S monitors. All required safety equipment will be provided by the employer.
  • Potential hazards in the field may include high temperatures, poor air quality, uneven terrain, biting insects, rattlesnakes, oil production equipment, and barbed-wire fencing.
  • There is a 30-day unpaid break from work activities (July 16th through August 14th). During this time, opportunities for additional part-time work and/or continuing education may be provided by senior staff.
  • Other tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining/preparing field equipment (e.g., taking company vehicles through car wash, cleaning ice chests/binoculars/etc., bagging ice for field crews), disposal of trash, gathering recyclables, and shredding paper.

We currently contract with over forty cities in the Greater Los Angeles area, managing programs such as NPDES, stormwater pollution prevention, industrial waste control, Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) management, and water conservation.


The Role: Β We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team of experts. This is a hands-on role where you will assist in implementing NPDES stormwater regulations and support the daily operations of the Program Manager.


Important: This position requires a willingness to work in the field, sometimes under harsh conditions. The typical schedule is approximately 30% office work and 70% field work.


Position Type: Full-time

Compensation:

  • Pay Scale: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour (DOE)
  • Note: Mileage for the required use of your personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the standard IRS rate.


Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections: Conduct compliance inspections for commercial businesses as well as Industrial General Permit (IGP) and Construction General Permit (CGP) sites.
  • Enforcement & Investigation: Investigate illicit environmental practices and determine compliance with local, regional, and state environmental regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed project reports and maintain accurate records of findings.
  • Data Management: Update and maintain various compliance databases and record-keeping systems.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Environmental Science (or a related field).
  • Field Readiness: Must be willing to work outdoors, occasionally in harsh weather conditions, with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Vehicle: A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and the willingness to use your personal vehicle to travel to various sites are mandatory.
  • Location: Applicants must currently reside in the Southern California area.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (specifically Report writing in Word, Data manipulation in Excel, and PowerPoint).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous field experience is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
