Department Information

After more than four years of planning and groundwork, the ambitious Tech Square Phase 3 (TS3) initiative is well underway. With two impressive towers at its core connected by a shared elevator, the TS3 project, slated to finish in 2026, encompasses 416,500 square feet and includes a large outdoor plaza for street-level retail.
The building will feature two striking structures: the 14-story Scheller Tower and the 18-story George Tower, respectively named after generous benefactors Ernest "Ernie" Scheller Jr. (IM 1952, HON Ph.D. 2013) and Bill William W. "Bill" George (IE 1964, HON Ph.D. 2008) and his wife Penny.

  • Partner with the Merchandise Manager to oversee sourcing and supplier alignment for the product line.
  • Represent Ernest professionally and authentically to prospective and existing customers.
  • Prepare and present annual GTM growth forecasts for the product line; projections are reviewed and incorporated into company planning.
  • Guide, motivate, and support the sales force in uncovering customer needs, both stated and unstated as they relate to the particular product line.
  • Keep Ernest at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies within the flexible packaging market.
  • Support the development and conversion of large quotations into successful orders.
  • Design and implement sales promotions, campaigns, and contests tied to specific product lines; drive participation and follow up with the Vice President of E-Mation.
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback to leadership and cross‐functional partners, including submission of customer contact reports and participation in meetings.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve marketing approaches related to product offerings.
  • Immerse in new technologies and innovations across the broader market, not just current suppliers and translate that knowledge into practical, value‐added customer solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Uphold the company’s core values in every interaction with customers, vendors, employees, and the sales force.
  • Direct the day to day operations of the division. Manage, supervise, train, motivate, and maintain full accountability for office, warehouse, customer service, purchasing, accounting, and inventory functions and departments.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing a business operation, with direct responsibility for day to day performance, team leadership, and operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams, ideally including customer service, purchasing, and warehouse or distribution center environments.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams, drive accountability, and align operational execution with company objectives.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems with the ability to navigate, analyze, and leverage data to drive operational decisions. SAP experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience balancing customer expectations with operational policies and supplier partnerships.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or training is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A four year degree is preferred. Relevant operational leadership experience will also be strongly considered.
