Role Description
SHANLEY, APC is seeking a talented lateral Attorney for a full-time position in Los Angeles, CA . This position offers the opportunity to assume a pivotal role in all facets of litigation and engage in a diverse range of cases.
The Attorney will be responsible for representing labor union and related entity clients in labor and employment matters. The Attorney will conduct comprehensive legal research; draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements and correspondence to opposing counsel; conduct discovery and take depositions; attend hearings; engage in negotiations; stay abreast of the latest legal developments; and provide legal advice to clients. Collaboration with colleagues and clients on case strategy and delivering excellent legal counsel are key responsibilities.
This position is on-site, at least initially. Hybrid work may be possible in the future.
Qualifications
- At least three years of prior practice as an attorney
- Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Outstanding communication skills, including oral advocacy abilities
- Strong organization and planning skills to allow for tracking and management of multiple deadlines
- Strong work ethic and sense of duty and responsibility towards clients, goals, and work product
- Embrace a collaborative and collegial work approach
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the California State Bar
Preferred, but not required:
- Prior experience in labor and employment law practice
- At least two years of prior litigation and case management experience
- Demonstrated commitment to the labor movement or social and economic justice
Salary Range & Benefits
- Competitive base salary, ranging from $145,000 to $165,000, commensurate with expertise and proficiency.
