Unit Description:

At the administrative direction of the Radiation Oncology Operations Supervisor, and the clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse works with the Oncologist and other Radiation Oncology staff to assess and respond to the specialized nursing needs of radiation therapy patients.  

EDUCATION: 

Graduate from an approved Professional Nursing Education Program.  Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.   Oncology Certified Nurse certification preferred.  BLS training required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation ? BLS, issued by the American Heart Association

  • Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department

  • Two (2) years of experience in a surgical specialty and/or inpatient environment strongly preferred

  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for a variety of urgent care conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, labs, and EKGs.
  • Perform typical urgent care procedures, such as laceration repair, I&Ds, and splint applications.
  • Collaborate with a network of peers and specialists to enhance patient outcomes. At Carbon Health, you'll never truly work solo-you'll always have immediate access to a supervisor or experienced colleague if you ever need support.
  • Triage and manage patients efficiently to maintain a smooth clinic flow with generally 4-5 patients per hour.
