The Manager of Field Services will lead and oversee a team responsible for managing and executing field service projects. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating field operations to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and meet customer specifications. The Manager of Field Services must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage an interdepartmental team to complete field service projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
- Outline and delegate tasks involved in field service projects, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct cost analysis and estimate expected costs for field service projects.
- Prepare and implement budgets based on cost estimates for field service operations.
- Address and resolve questions, concerns, and complaints from customers and team members during the project lifecycle.
- Act as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure field services align with company goals and customer needs.
- Conduct risk assessments and report identified risks to management; provide recommendations for mitigating risks, including terminating projects if necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices related to field services.
- Promote and market new field service projects, programs, and systems to potential clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or associate degree in a related field, such as Business, Engineering, or a technical discipline.
- At least three years of related experience in field services or project management is required.
- PMP, PgMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.

Job Summary
This position is onsite in Roanoke VA and will be responsible for reviewing documents, contracts, communications, purchase orders, proposals, and working to ensure all commercial terms and conditions, business risks and potentially onerous requirements are addressed to the benefit of the company. Help direct Contracts Specialists and ensure the appropriate forms are completed for approval and other documentation. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the performance of audits and completing checklists of contract information, reviewing input to the management ERP system and updating and maintaining files and data spreadsheets related to contract reviews and other projects as needed. The position requires a detail oriented, organized person, familiar with business, contracts, risk mitigation and with strong, MS Word, reading and writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Review contracts for risk including liabilities, Indemnification, Insurance, Warranty, Cancellation, redlining and editing problematic wording and language.
- Keep updated contract and customer logs
- Maintain records of all contracts and agreements. Ensure through audits the agreements are current the company is following terms, and achieving key milestones, and managing risk.
- Assist in coordinating as needed with Key stakeholders in Sales, Engineering, and operations.
- Review customer purchase orders to confirm compliance with quoted pricing, and terms of sales and ensure that all required order elements are accurately entered into the ERP system and are processed in accordance with the procedures and instructions.
Experience And Education
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 5+ years of Contracts review/ Legal assistant, accounting, insurance or administration similar experience with detailed transactional work.

- Sprays surfaces of, manufactured products, or producat area with protective or decorative material, such as primer, paint, enamel, using spray gun: Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, soap, and water.
- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
- May manually manipulate parts into the proper carrier/hanger to provide for proper spraying/drying
- Sands/preps the primer surface to include removing defects and to fill cavities and dents with body filler and putty to attain smooth surface.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer.
- Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
- Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting technique.
- Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
- Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
- Capable of doing spot repair on parts, using blending clear to cut in edges.
- Wet sand small defects and buff paint back to original shine.

- Experience in automotive paint and body repair.
- Experience in paint surfaces, paint sprayers, and paint booths preferred.

Summary
Virginia Transformer is seeking a results-oriented Sr. Manager/Director of Inbound Logistics to lead global transportation operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective inbound delivery of materials and components to support production schedules across our network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead inbound transportation strategy across ocean, air, and freight forwarding channels.
- Develop and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.
- Drive the implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS) to enhance visibility, automation, and performance tracking.
- Establish and monitor logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, transit times, carrier performance).

About the Role
Virginia Transformer Corporation is seeking a hands-on Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical design and development function across six manufacturing plants. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in mechanical systems, metallurgy, and polymers, along with strong leadership experience in custom electromechanical equipment design.
This role will be responsible for standardizing design practices, improving manufacturability, and ensuring all mechanical designs meet rigorous standards of quality, performance, and safety. You will collaborate closely with plant-level engineering teams, corporate R&D, sourcing, and vendor quality to drive innovation, consistency, and cost optimization across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical design engineers across multiple sites, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure consistent application of the mechanical design manual and design standards across all six plants.
- Partner with corporate R&D to advance new mechanical design initiatives and introduce innovative materials, features, and product enhancements.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the design teams, driving measurable improvement in design quality, efficiency, and throughput.
Design & Engineering Execution
- Oversee the design and development of mechanical assemblies, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide direct, hands-on technical support when needed — including concept development, modeling, and problem-solving for complex design challenges.
- Apply deep understanding of metallurgy, polymers, and material properties to improve product performance, longevity, and thermal characteristics.
- Establish, update, and enforce design automation and process assurance systems to maintain consistency and reduce variability in mechanical design outputs.
- Review and approve detailed mechanical drawings, design calculations, and documentation for accuracy and compliance with internal and industry standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sourcing and Vendor Quality Assurance to qualify suppliers and evaluate materials or components for new or alternative sourcing.
- Participate in design reviews, non-conformance investigations (NCRs), and root cause/corrective action efforts to resolve mechanical and manufacturing issues.
- Work closely with plant management and production teams to ensure mechanical designs support operational goals and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with Safety and Compliance functions to ensure adherence to industry, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Master's degree in mechanical engineering preferred. PE is a plus.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in thermo-mechanical design of custom electromechanical equipment, with at least 5 years in a senior management or multi-site leadership role.
- Proven background in metallurgy, polymers, material science, or industrial product design from manufacturing, energy, aerospace, rail, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of FEA/FEM analytical tools, CAD systems, and 3D design platforms (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in a plant, multi plant or global manufacturing environment.

- Deep technical understanding of materials, thermal performance, stress analysis, and mechanical reliability.

Design Engineer – Junction Box
Location: Troutville, Virginia

Position Overview
Virginia Transformer Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer – Junction Box to join our engineering team in Troutville, Virginia. This role is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of junction box assemblies used in power transformer systems. The engineer will work closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.
This position plays a key role in supporting Virginia Transformer's continued growth by delivering reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective electrical enclosure solutions for utility, industrial, renewable energy, and critical infrastructure customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop junction box assemblies and related electrical enclosure components for power transformer systems.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) using CAD tools.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are efficient, manufacturable, and scalable.
- Review and interpret customer specifications, engineering standards, and project requirements.
- Support new product development and engineering change initiatives.
- Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support to production and field teams.
- Work with supply chain and vendors to identify suitable materials and components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, electrical codes, and internal quality requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and support ERP/PLM updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- 3–10+ years of design engineering experience, preferably in electrical equipment, enclosures, transformers, switchgear, or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience with CAD design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and enclosure design.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and electrical integration.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and production teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with power transformers, substations, or power distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of UL, IEEE, or electrical equipment standards.
- Experience working in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering documentation control.

As a Combat Engineer, you’ll work quickly and skillfully to help Soldiers navigate while on combat missions by constructing bridges, clearing barriers with explosives, and detecting and avoiding mines and other environmental hazards. You'll provide expertise and come up with quick and creative engineering solutions, constructing fighting positions, fixed and floating bridges, and obstacles and defense positions.
