Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Healthcare Technology (Nashville, TN)


A healthcare technology startup is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their growing team as a full-time employee. This role is based in the greater Nashville, TN area and offers an onsite work environment with some remote flexibility, along with competitive salary and excellent benefits.


In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain data-intensive applications that support clinical and operational workflows within healthcare environments. What You’ll Do

  • User-focused development: Learn about end users through interviews, surveys, and observation to better understand their workflows and advocate for their needs in the products you help build.
  • Full-stack application development: Contribute to both frontend and backend systems using TypeScript, Vue 3, Node.js, and Express.
  • Healthcare data integration: Work with healthcare data standards, including FHIR R4, to maintain consistent and interoperable data across applications.
  • Testing and quality assurance: Develop, maintain, and improve unit and end-to-end integration tests to ensure reliable, production-ready software.
  • Collaboration and code review: Participate in code reviews and team discussions to maintain high engineering standards and software quality.
  • CI/CD and infrastructure: Support automated build, deployment, and infrastructure practices that enable efficient development and delivery.
  • Analytics and continuous improvement: Work with product and engineering teams to analyze application usage and identify opportunities for improvement.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Web development: Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks, particularly Vue 3.
  • Backend/data engineering: Experience with Node.js/Express, API design patterns, SQL, and NoSQL technologies such as PostgreSQL and BigQuery, along with familiarity with streaming systems like Google Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud experience: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, including services such as Cloud Storage, Memorystore/Redis, and GKE.
  • Experimentation mindset: Comfortable gathering and analyzing data to improve applications and system architecture.
  • Healthcare knowledge or curiosity: Interest in learning about healthcare operations, regulations (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR), and industry data standards.
  • FHIR familiarity or enthusiasm: Experience with FHIR R4 is a plus, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
