Boeing Commercial Airplanes is looking for an Experienced Product Lifecycle Process Engineer to support software installation and loading processes at our Everett, Washington location.

Position Overview:
Seeking an Experienced Product Lifecycle Process Engineer to support the installation and validation of loadable software on aircraft and in lab or production environments. This role collaborates with Design Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure procedures meet hardware/software requirements and safety standards, and to deliver clear, repeatable loading procedures, robust troubleshooting, and up-to-date user guides. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on Airplane Systems experience, strong technical writing skills, and a commitment to operational reliability .

Primary Responsibilities:
Install loadable software on aircraft platforms and bench test environments in accordance with approved procedures.
Develop clear, step-by-step loading procedures and instructions for both on-aircraft and bench scenarios.
Collaborate closely with Design Engineers for each system to ensure loading procedures align with hardware/software requirements and safety standards.
Validate and verify loading procedures through testing, design reviews, and field trials; capture results and implement improvements.
Maintain and update user guides, procedure documents, and training materials as software and hardware evolve.
Troubleshoot loading issues, document root causes, perform corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
Ensure compatibility with regulatory, airline-specific safety, security, and reliability requirements.
Provide training materials or sessions for technicians and engineers as needed; lead or participate in hands-on training.
Maintain change control, versioning, and traceability for all loading procedures.
Contribute to risk assessments and safety analyses related to software loading activities.
Support incident investigations related to loading activities and implement preventive actions.
Ensure proper documentation and alignment software integrity practices where applicable.

Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Everett, WA location.

The Blum Center for Developing Economies at the University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified instructors and invites applications to teach courses in the area of Development Engineering. In addition to core DevEng classes (DevEng 200, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206), new classes may be planned based upon student interest and candidate expertise. We're seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Heat Treat Process Engineering Supervisor to lead and support all aspects of the heat treatment operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Heat Treat Process Engineering Supervisor serves as a technical expert responsible for ensuring the proper thermal processing of materials to meet metallurgical and production requirements meeting all CQI-9 requirements. This role includes overseeing furnace operations, audits, documentation, process control, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.


The ideal candidate will have strong metallurgical knowledge, heat treat process experience, the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and the ability to manage compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role has direct supervisory responsibility for Lab Technicians, including scheduling, performance management, training, and ensuring compliance with laboratory testing standards and metallurgical validation requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Complete):

  • Oversee and manage daily heat treat operations including carburizing, hardening, tempering, and stress relieving
  • Ensure compliance with AIAG CQI-9: Heat Treat System Assessment (HTSA) and other applicable standards
  • Implement and maintain heat treat process control plans per AIAG guidelines
  • Conduct and lead CQI-9 self-assessments, audits, and ensure closure of gaps and non-conformances
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of furnaces and quench systems
  • Monitor thermal cycles and maintain control charts, pyrometry data, and process records per CQI-9
  • Support system accuracy tests (SAT), temperature uniformity surveys (TUS), and instrumentation calibration activities
  • Ensure all documentation meets internal and customer-specific AIAG compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to address process improvements and problem-solving
  • Perform metallurgical inspections including hardness testing and microstructure verification
  • Provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance personnel on best practices
  • Develop and optimize heat treat process parameters including atmosphere control, quench severity, and thermal cycle design to meet metallurgical and dimensional requirements
  • Atmosphere verification (Carbon Potential, Dew Point, etc.)
  • Distortion Mitigation Strategy
  • Develop, implement, and maintain training programs to ensure team competency on heat treat systems and compliance
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for heat treat-related non-conformities

The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager (L-Level) to lead a team of SEIT engineers on National Programs in El Segundo, CA.

You will be a leader of a high performance SEIT team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers and senior technologists.
