We are currently seeking Experienced or Senior Structural Analysis Engineers to verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

These positions are located in the Greater St. Louis region and support current and emerging aircraft programs as part of the Air Dominance division in Boeing Defense Space and Security(BDS). Position Responsibilities:

Level 3

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design

  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment

About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead strategic Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering sourcing projects for new and existing sites across Ross' supply chain network. Their primary goals will be to help Ross mitigate risks, procure materials, equipment and services at the best value and be a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Process Execution
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Industrial Construction categories (e.g., steel structures, concrete, MEP systems, site services, etc.) and Facilities Maintenance categories (e.g., conveyor systems, fork trucks, racking, etc.). Analyze historical data to determine the highest risk and cost categories.
  • Partner with Property Development, Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Risk Management and Finance teams to understand project needs. Manage expectations and set achievable milestones to arrive at the agreed upon goal.
  • Develop and manage sourcing project timelines and lead socialization meetings. Update stakeholders regularly on project progress, risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and compliance. Develop and monitor supplier KPIs, coordinate regular QBRs and Top to Top meetings.
  • Support the budgeting process and develop bottoms-up (quantity based) estimates.
  • Develop RFPs and vendor response comparison tools (quantitative and qualitative). Work with Property Development, Engineering, Loss Prevention, IT and Legal stakeholders to understand requirements to be included in the RFP packages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years category management / strategic sourcing experience in Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering. Multiple Construction and Engineering sourcing category experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience in a cross functional environment (technical and non-technical teams).
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance - budgeting, cash flow, P/L statements, balance sheets.

SMT / Through-Hole / 2nd Ops / 3rd Ops Process Support

  1. Review daily SMT or build schedule to ensure process readiness.
  2. Confirm all required items are complete and available prior to production:
  3. Job package with full build documentation.
  4. Manufacturing Process Instruction (MPI) reviewed and approved.
  5. Routing definitions for data collection.
  6. Validated reflow or wave solder profiles.
  7. ECOs, deviations, or special instructions incorporated into the MPI and/or job package.
  8. All required tooling available and verified.
  9. Review pre-build DFM, document known defects, and hyperlink details in the MPI.
  10. Lead cross-functional NPI kickoff meetings to review design requirements, risk areas, and special process considerations.
  11. Document and track NPI issues and lessons learned for future builds.
  12. Coordinate with Program Managers to resolve DFM showstoppers prior to build.

  17. Inspect initial boards after print and reflow for solder release, bridging, voids, and process anomalies. Document findings and sign off the First Article Report.
  18. Provide on-the-floor training for operators and technicians regarding new processes, corrective actions, or observed deficiencies.
  19. Support production by promptly responding to technical inquiries or line support issues.
  20. Exercise full authority to stop the line if repeated defects or safety concerns are observed.

 

Quality Data Review & Root Cause Analysis

 

  1. Review production data in Omega Data Collection, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  2. Review Daily, Weekly, and Customer Quality Reports to identify trends, recurring issues, or process gaps.
  3. Provide structured analysis and report findings to Quality and Production (using 8D or equivalent methodology).
  4. Document corrective actions and verify implementation during the next production run.
  5. Present findings and improvement updates in internal and customer quality meetings.

 

Other Responsibilities:

 

  1. Create and submit Post-Build DFM reports to Program Managers with improvement recommendations.
  2. Implement and validate ECO changes per revision control procedures.

Summary/Objective:

The Structural Engineer position is primarily focused on mechanical structures and supports for our industrial and commercial divisions (local and national accounts). This position works closely with our Project Leaders and our in-house design teams to provide designs and concepts along with professional guidance when needed.
