Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution.
Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
Floats to various inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs (if applicable).
Completes Unit Nurse Leader Training, as needed.
Provides direct nursing care, collaborates with other multidiscipline team members to provide patient care to various patient population.
Conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care
Precept staff from various units as needed.
Coordinates care to multidiscipline team members to facilitate and provide the highest possible quality patient care.

Overview

The Carle Cath Lab performs many exciting and innovative procedures including, but not limited to: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath, PTCA interventions, TAVR, Left Atrial Appendage Closure, MitraClip, as well as peripheral vascular procedures including Peripheral Angiography, Peripheral PTA. Staff are responsible for collaborating with physicians and members of the Prep/Recovery and Procedure Lab staff to facilitate excellent patient care. The HVI offers several unique opportunities for personal and professional growth, flexible staffing options (i.e. cross-training, job sharing, minimal on-call shifts), HVI MD Lecture series (which includes free CEUs for staff), mentoring program (to support new hires and transfers), and educational events with various HVI equipment and procedural training (i.e. Shockwave, CoroFlow, Structural Heart Program).

Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Administer moderate sedation and other medications in a safe manner by following Carle Policies. Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures including prep, intra procedure and recovery phases for routine GI procedures of colonoscopy and upper endoscopy with opportunity to train for advanced and pulmonary teams. The RN will provide direct patient care, rotating through the phases, and deliver moderate sedation under direction of physician. Works collaboratively with other departments and unit staff to provide care to inpatient and outpatient populations and delegates to unlicensed personal as appropriate.

Provide Medication Therapy Management Services as defined in the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act. Performs utilization management reviews. Serves as drug information resource for other departments. Conduct medication reconciliation, perform clinical interventions, uncover adverse drug reactions, and refer patients to pertinent clinics (i.e. anticoagulation).

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $52.06per hour - $89.54per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
