Quality Manager
Must have strong experience in automotive manufacturing quality leadership (IATF 16949 OR TS 16949)
Position Overview
The Quality Manager leads the site’s quality function and ensures that products consistently meet internal standards and customer requirements. This role is responsible for managing quality personnel, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting production teams, and maintaining compliance with applicable quality systems and industry standards. The position works cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership to maintain product integrity and address quality-related concerns throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the plant’s quality team by providing guidance, training, and ongoing performance feedback to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
- Direct daily quality activities including product inspections, issue resolution, and verification that manufactured products meet required specifications.
- Review and coordinate responses to customer and internal corrective actions, ensuring appropriate investigation, documentation, and follow-through.
- Analyze quality and production data to identify trends, investigate root causes, and support improvements to manufacturing processes.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve product quality issues and improve overall process capability.
- Evaluate finished products and production processes to determine compliance with specifications, standards, and customer expectations.
- Investigate testing or measurement concerns by verifying calibration and functionality of inspection equipment and coordinating necessary corrective actions.
- Organize and interpret inspection results, historical quality data, and production records to support problem solving and decision-making.
- Communicate quality performance metrics through reports, charts, presentations, or other analytical tools for leadership review.
- Maintain and support the organization’s quality management system by ensuring policies, procedures, and documentation remain current and effective.
- Facilitate meetings or discussions focused on quality improvement initiatives, corrective actions, and process performance.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist with follow-up actions to address findings or recommendations.
- Utilize a variety of inspection and measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and related quality equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records associated with quality activities and compliance requirements.
- Promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment while following company policies and operational procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support operational and business objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education related to quality, manufacturing, or engineering preferred.
- Previous experience in a quality leadership or supervisory role within a automotive manufacturing environment.
- Background in metal stamping, precision manufacturing, or similar industrial production processes is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of industry quality methodologies and core tools such as PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and APQP.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T, and product specifications.
- Proficiency using inspection and measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and vision systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and drive corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and clearly convey quality expectations.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Position operates in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a production facility.

As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for field operations and onsite construction management of design-build construction projects, specifically quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, construction, start up, and testing on highly complex projects nationwide. Compensation
- The salary range for this position considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: Education, qualifications, skills, training, experience, certifications, internal equity, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The Clayco Nationwide salary range for this position is approximately $60,000 - $70,000 +/- annually (not adjusted for location).

Project Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Project Engineer will play a critical role assisting in project management and construction supervision efforts. As Project Engineer you will assist with managing and coordination of all submittals, cost control, scheduling, reporting, estimating and document control activities at the job site during the construction period. You will also ensure client satisfaction is maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in documenting the planning and scheduling of construction operations and coordinate the production and updating of required schedule networks and printouts.
- Set up Procore for project (or other computerized database system if required by the Owner).
- Where required, assist the Project Manager in establishing the permit requirements for the project.
- Assist in developing the Purchase and Award Schedule for the project.
- Participate in Pre-construction Meetings.
- Prepare change and work orders for issuance by Project Manager.
- Prepare and maintain the material status report. Review and follow material deliveries as scheduled and expedite in conjunction with the Project Superintendent using the Material Status Reports.
- Record/distribute meeting minutes as directed by the Project Manager.
- Update project schedule with input from the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
- With the Project Manager and Superintendent, review Trade Contractor’s payment applications for payment.
- Assist in the implementation of quality plan for construction activities.
- Maintain and control all engineering records, logs, and files.
- Maintain the engineering set of working project drawings and specifications, keeping them posted and up to date, as well as a historical set of these documents.
- Distribute revised construction documents to all interested parties.
- Assist the Project Manager and Information Services with the set up and updating of the project’s Internet web site, if required for the project.
- Assist the Project Manager in creating the monthly report.
- Participate in lessons learned sessions.
- Assist the Project Manager with preparing the initial and final Project Data Reports.
- Transmit all project related records, including copies of all projects related electronic data, for retention in the approved records storage facility.
- Entering data into and obtaining reports from the Change Management and Cost Reporting Systems for the project.
- Assist with punch list items and project close out.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 1-4 years of related project engineer experience with a construction or construction management firm preferably on commercial, mixed-use, industrial, or school projects.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.
- Ability to assume responsibility and interface well with Project Team.
- Exemplify exceptional customer service and leadership.
- Ability to communicate effectively through writing.
- Ability to process improvement, problem solve, and clearly communicate.
- Possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Construction Management and industry software (I.e., Procore).
