Responsible to lead quality initiatives for pre-production builds and new product launches. This role ensures readiness through APQP methodologies, drives cross-functional corrective actions, and safeguards product conformity and process capability in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum 7–10 years of Quality Engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in cross‑functional problem solving, decision‑making, and supporting engineering, manufacturing, and new product development environments.

Must be proficient in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or equivalent.

Operates with minimal oversight, taking initiative and driving proactive problem resolution.

Collaborative team contributor with advanced analytical skills, proficiency in root‑cause analysis methodologies, and a data‑driven approach to decision making, building and leveraging Power BI for dashboard development and performance insights.

Strong project management and organizational capability, utilizing MS Project for scheduling and resource planning.

Communicate investigation findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions through formal technical presentations and reports. 

Familiarity with Six Sigma principles, DMAIC methodology, and data‑driven continuous improvement practices.

Proficient in the selection, calibration, and use of test and measurement equipment required for inspection, verification, and validation activities.

Knowledgeable in raw material specifications, supplier qualification, and vendor management, including incoming inspection and supplier performance monitoring.

Ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5, including datum schemes and feature control frames.

Proficient in MS Office for technical reporting, KPI tracking, and documentation control.

Capable of using Minitab for statistical analysis (SPC, capability studies, DOE) and UniPoint for CAPA, NCR, and audit management.

Skilled in developing, analyzing, and presenting technical documentation, including control plans, inspection reports, and quality metrics.

Experience with 3D modeling and CMM metrology software for dimensional analysis, measurement validation, GD&T verification, and inspection.

A Contingent position that will work with Designers, Vehicle Performance, and Electronics Specialists to test, modify, and evolve hardware systems on race cars and track-focused road cars. Work to prove-out durability and performance to technical targets. Report and communicate on lessons-learned during the development process. Devise innovative tools and methods to test cars, subsystems, and parts. Document problem reports for failures in the field. Analyze data logged on cars, to trace down root causes. Track and manage resolution of vehicle hardware issues. Devise countermeasures. Work with designers and manage 3rd parties to implement design changes. Manage and execute testing of countermeasure parts. Manage and execute test and development of new vehicles, and vehicle hardware updates. Regularly liaise with 3rd party vendors, race teams, and test facilities. Specify instrumentation, perform data analysis, and write reports on the outcomes of development initiatives. Devise new and improved ways to test parts and systems, either in track driving tests, or in workshop rig tests. Work with designers, electronics groups, and suppliers to implement new testing equipment and methods.

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience with 3-dimension CAD software modelling of race car components. At least 5 years of professional experience.  Strong analytical skills are required. Knowledge and hands-on experience with racing cars and related electronics and mechanical systems. Previous experience evaluating and implementing design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Previous experience coordinating activities related to project  development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test issues. Extensive knowledge of racing car mechanical systems and structural elements Strong knowledge of engineering principles and theories. Knowledge of raw material specifications and codes. The Electrical Design Contingent Engineer will support company projects by performing electrical design activities, collaborating cross‑functionally, and ensuring all design solutions meet performance, cost, manufacturing, and timeline targets. This role requires hands‑on involvement in design, prototyping, assembly trials, and coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.

Conduct electrical design activities in support of company project requirements. Develop new or improved designs, including 3D modeling and 2D drawings, incorporating modern technologies, industry trends, manufacturability, environmental considerations, cost, and ease of assembly. Recommend optimized design solutions to solve problems or reduce cost while meeting performance and project targets. Perform engineering hand calculations where needed (e.g., beam bending, pressure drop). Understand and apply creepage and clearance methodologies for high‑voltage components. Design wire harnesses; experience with harness layout in assembly design is a plus. Perform tolerance stack‑up calculations to ensure proper assembly under all part variances. Collaborate with other departments to ensure on‑time delivery of practical and optimized electrical design solutions. Participate in assembly trials, manufacturing trials, and vendor visits as needed, including business travel to track/HRC or other locations. Act as a liaison between Project Management and the Design Group Lead, ensuring clear communication of project history, issues, priorities, and targets. Provide critical updates and technical information to the electrical design team and group leads. Ensure BOM and pictorials are accurately maintained and updated according to project milestones. Follow up on problem reports for responsible parts and provide timely updates during weekly review meetings. Ensure designed components meet targets set by technical management, including performance, durability, weight, cost, manufacturing, and assembly. Report design errors clearly and promptly; actively review work in progress to ensure deadlines are met. Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and perform drawing content checks prior to ECN submission.

Cross‑Functional Engagement: Collaborate proactively with: Project Management; Development & Simulation teams; External suppliers; QA / Assembly Shop, Machine Shop

Provide updates and solutions at mechanical, engineering, and problem‑report meetings. Support other 3D/2D component design activities beyond electrification as needed. Maintain accountability for delivering assigned tasks according to project timelines.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. 3–5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally in automotive, motorsports, aerospace, or related high‑performance industries. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 or 3D Experience preferred). Strong understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems, including creepage and clearance requirements. Experience designing wire harnesses and electrical subsystems. Ability to perform engineering hand calculations and justify design decisions. Solid understanding of GD&T principles (preferred). Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) practices and ability to collaborate closely with manufacturing teams. Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot design issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent communication skills for coordination with project managers, design leads, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and maintain accountability in a fast‑paced project environment. Willingness to travel to suppliers, test sites, or track locations as required.

Lead and provide design engineering expertise for racecar vehicle design projects supporting HRC’s pinnacle and grassroots motorsports programs. This role is responsible for creating and analyzing design concepts, CAD models, and drawings, interpreting test results, planning and completing assigned engineering projects, and mentoring engineers.

Technical Direction & Mentorship: Develop team capabilities, promote collaboration, manage conflict, provide feedback, and optimize resources.

Design Leadership: Lead design activities for subsystem prototype validation.

Strategic Planning & Team Development: Implement mid- to long-term plans, set priorities, mentor associates, evaluate performance, prepare business plans and budgets, and coordinate cross-functional activities

Administration: Ensure timely reporting of design faults, manage vendors, and oversee project timelines.

Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

15+ years in motorsport vehicle design

10+ years in chassis design for professional motorsports

Technical project management experience

Extensive CAD modeling expertise (parametric modeling preferred)

Comprehensive knowledge of race car chassis and mechanical systems
